Cheers guys.
One of my favourite sections just before the Sun Inn.
Still not quite as good as the roads out from skipton all the way up to the buttertubs. Going to have to attack that soon i think, not done it in the 172 yet.
Could be both to be fair.
I've come across a couple of stalk adaptors that when fitted dont work, despite them being brand new out of the packet.
If the replacement does the same thing i'd suggest its the actual stalk control on the clio.

I heard you couldnt adjust the camber on them, however in the kit the top bolt you get for the strut to hub arrangement, allows you to easily set either positive or negative camber, i imagine with a bit of skill you could set them somewhere inbetween.
Having never used another type of coilover...
The camber is only off on mine as i had to set it to full positive so the tyre didnt catch on the actual strut
Arent the bolts you get with them camber bolts? They certainly allowed me to alter the camber.
When i get some spacers so that the wheel doesnt catch back on the strut it will be...
Really rather impressed with them to be honest. Was quietly expecting them to be dire seeing as they are so cheap but genuinely dont have any bad words to say for them.
They are bumpy over very poor roads but then so is the standard suspension. They're never crashy and the damping is spot on...
Cheers guys!
I'm looking into getting a splitter but its already pretty low at the front so it will have to be fairly small.
Thanks mate, no idea on numbers to be fair, i did it by eye and just made sure the two front struts matched on the height.
I'd guess somewhere in the order of 70mm...
Gave the car a first run out after i had sorted the height on the coilovers.
It was a lovely day up in the dales so took some piccies near menwith hill.
Got a bit carried away as usual.
Cheers

Well yesterday i decided to pop on my short shifter, but when i got underneath the car could see that the bolts holding the cat on to the rest of the exhaust were rusted solid. They didnt even have much in the way of edges to get a socket on, i tried a few different sizes and they all just spun...
yeh as i said the ride isnt anywhere near as bad as i was expecting.
You definately feel the potholes more, but just normal driving isnt crashy or harsh like I thought it might be.
Bizzarely theres enough thread left on the fronts to go at least another 25mm lower.
Its getting another set of 15's that are going to cause a few issues on this forum when i get some spacers for the fronts so they fit over the brakes.
Drives really nicely, nowhere near as crashy as the gmaxx...
Fit my vmaxx coilovers yesterday when they turned up, ended up finsihing them in the dark due to starting the job at about 4.
Therefore the height is all wrong, and its ended up looking like its trying to snort the white lines up off the road.
Going to have a play with the settings tomorrow...
Yeh i remember yours being parked right behind me a few weeks back. Was going to leave a note but then thought that might be a bit ghey. Mondeo looks really well btw.
thanks mate, need to pop the front up a bit tomorrow it looks like its snorting lines off the road!
Going to try come along to my first meet with it. I'm usually always at work but i should be around for this one in theory.
A decent ad can work wonders.
Include as many pictures as you can to show the condition of the car and be as thorough as you can when writing the ad.
I put my car up on pistonheads on Monday, got a call from a lady Friday who came to see the car the same day and bought it on the spot.
Never underestimate the morons halfords seems to attract.
I once had a nice young man ask me if the tailpipe trims give you any more power.
I took every fibre of my being to tell him no.
As a halfords b**ch myself, i'm continuously amazed at peoples lack of knowledge of the cars they are driving round.
On more than a few occasions people have no idea what make or model of car they are driving or what the registration is.
Remember this happening vividly, its not an isolated...
