Yeh let us know how you get on.
I've just bought some primer, lacquer and various grades of wet and dry to fo my new side strips and bullets
Mixed my own paint so it should be bloody right!
franx - yes everything feels much tighter, although it wasnt too bad before.
My top mount had completely split into 2 on the rubber however so its no surprise!
If you've got the off the shelf stuff, make sure you give it a bloody good shake!
Half of it will have been on our shelves or in a warehouse for months.
I dont mean just flicking your wrist once or twist, they need properly shaking.
Yes it is mate, just nowhere near as much as it used to be as some clown in management has decided our store can run on a grand total of 3 people at any one time. Therefore my overtime has been killed. Poo.

A complete straight swap yes.
Its the mount as used on the 1.4/1.6/1.9D clios or kangoos.
part number 7700434370
Havent changed the battery tray mount yet - thats next on my to do list.
Valvers seem to be strangely high on insurance, i only pay £100 a year extra on my 172.
I was TPFT with 2 years ncb for £1200. Both my postcodes are rubbish and somone crashed into me a year back which doesnt help.
Try HIC/Flux or bell. Both companies were then only ones that could get...
First proper pics of my car with an actual camera rather than the joke that is my phone.
Just threw some water over it earlier, im saving a proper clay/polish and t-cut day for when it stops pissing it down every other day.

Right well i've just swapped my top engine mount for a new one (albeit a kangoo one) and the knocking is massively reduced. Its still there in the very top end of the rev range but its is hugely less intrusive.
The wheels now just spin rather than knocking like they were trying to free...
LOL yep thats it!
Have some photos of my old car in that exact spot somewhere.
the b6160 is a cracking road - right from bolton abbey past grassington, up past buckden.
My favourite route for the tubs is to take the 6160 all the way up to askrigg, head west on the a684, but then cut across...
Fantastic stuff. Love the buttertubs.
Not done it in ages, certainly not in the 172.
Must sort that out!
Is it really geeky that i think i know exactly where that second picture is!
Needs to go to someone who is actually going to use it as its currently sat at the top of my drive looking sad.
Sensible offers considered

i noticed when swapping my inlets that my drivers side engine mount is completely split into two pieces.
I've got a new one im going to fit in the week, so will report back if this solves things or not. Might be an area to check if it turns out to solve it.
lol not to worry mate.
if you go have a play with them, the tomtom equivolent to the garmin 205W is the XL V2 so have a look at that and see what you think
255 is a nice bit of kit, only get it if you know you will need europe though, you can get a 205 which will be identical it just wont have europe maps for a fair bit cheaper. Garmins are also easy to upgrade, so you could pop europe maps on a 205 anytime you like for £40 or so.
id get a case...
yeh thats right, its the same satnav we're getting you out the back your just paying less for it. Madness but someone must think its a good idea.
the cheapest garmin with both traffic and the widescreen that you can get in store is the 265wt which is full of whistles and bells. does europe...
have a longlife system on mine, was on when i bought it.
its hidden so looks stock but makes a nice burble on idle and a nice note higher up the revs.
Absolutely no knocks or bangs either
