That is a puzzle because most people who forget to put the spacer back on soon enough have issues. Just seems weird that if the spacer wasn't on your disc or still on the stub axle why you didn't have any issues. Guess weirder things have happened

There is a setting on the radio to remove that as I have done it to mine but I cant remember how you get to it now. All I know is you set it to 0 :)

Only one way to find out and that's have a look. Also spin the wheel while its jacked up and see if the noise happens Also you 100% sure its coming from the front?

Fair enough if it doesn't make the noise when braking then it most likely isn't that, its just that a metal grinding noise can happen if the pads are gone and it will sound like its coming from the engine area. Might be worth just checking your pad levels to rule that out? I take it your oil...

So only makes the noise when driving? If so could it be your brake pads being worn to metal? Does the noise increase when braking?
