I was using the cruise control on the motorway over the weekend and I had it set at around 70mph. It kept cutting out for some reason, every now and again. The car would just stop pulling and I had to press the button on the steering wheel to get it back up to speed again with the cruise...
Yeah it's quite a hard plastic pipe. It had a sort of nozzle on the end, which is why it made sense to plug it back in where I did. Does make sense, as the heater, especially the windowscreen one seems to have been a bit weak lately.
I'm having the same problem with my drivers side headlight. It also flickers a bit when throwing it around a corner or hitting any bumps in the road. Will have to wait for a dry day to start swapping bits around and testing them.
I've found a black tube hanging down in the passenger footwell of my Clio 182. I've discovered a hole for it to fit back into on the upper right hand side of the footwell. Just curious if anyone knows what this is for? It seems to come from just behind the glove box.
Thanks in advance :)
I'm liking the term 'pikey fix'... that made me laugh :)
I usually do the same with the stereo and drown out squeaks / rattles with bass, but this one was really doing my head in.
Whilst driving, it sounded like there were a couple of mice making love in the back of my car. Figured out it wasn't mice, but actually the seats squeaking. So I fixed it...
... with a wedge of cardboard :)
I've finally had the Eibach Sportlines fitted. Will get some pictures up w̶h̶e̶n̶ if the weather picks up and my car isn't covered in grit, salt and whatever other sh*t the roads are throwing at it. :)
Yeah, that would be great if you could mate. I've checked the power steering fluid, that seems fine. Could it still be the pump? I'm not very clued up on engine parts.
Just a quick update... I finally got the sheered wheel nut removed from my wheel today, after months of it just sitting in there. The garage I took it to had to weld some metal on to what was left of the wheel nut and use that to screw it off. Here's how that wheel nut looks now...
I also...
That sounds about right man, thanks for the advice. Will be taking it to a garage to sort out. Any idea of how much I should be paying a mechanic to fix this?
I've recently noticed a squeaky noise when turning the wheels of my Clio 182. It's worse when on full lock and it doesn't feel right from the steering wheel either. It only seems to make the sound when stationary or turning into a tight corner at slow speeds. I've included a video below to show...
Thanks mate, would that be a genuine Renault part on the eBay listing? Have just sent the seller a message asking them. Will give Adam a call now to see how much I'd be looking at. :)
Yeah, at the moment they're just fixed screws, so there is no movement. Would this be what I need? - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=260864835491&fromMakeTrack=true&ssPageName=VIP:watchlink:top:en#ht_515wt_1142
Just had it welded back together for £20 at a local garage. They think the cause was because of how the de-cat pipe is tightly screwed on, not leaving any flex. They recommended getting an exhaust fitting kit.
Hey guys,
I was driving along the other day and all of a sudden my car went ridiculously loud. I've looked under the car to find this...
It looks like it's just rusted from the joint and broke. Any idea what I would need doing to fix this and if so, roughly how much it would cost? Anyone...
It's been a while since I've done anything on my car, mainly due to funds. I decided to buy a set of turinis with tyres as I needed two new front tyres anyway. It didn't cost too much more for a full set of turinis with tyres, so it made sense. Took a drive up to Middlesbrough to pick them up...
I usually get around 300 miles from a full tank with a mix of driving sensibly and driving not so sensibly... judging by the fuel I've just used though, I will be lucky to get 200 miles from a full tank.
Haha nice one dude! Really need to get this sorted, fuel is expensive enough, without my car using more than it needs to be. Hopefully it's nothing too costly to fix. May well be a lambda sensor problem though, as it's recently been taken out and put back in after swapping the cat converter on...
Would the lambda fault cause more fuel to be used? My mpg reading hasn't dropped really, which is strange. I don't regularly use V Power either, so I don't know if the sudden change of fuel would cause the car to 'get used to' it or not?
