Thanks, will get the Haynes Manual out with the wiring diagrams, didn't realise the heated screens were so 'cheap' so definitely something to add to the to-do list.
Thanks James. Noted re sealing the screen. Electrics look more in depth than I thought so no DIY switch then!! I could just use the relay slot and part of the loom that used to go to the old rear window. With regards the two circuits would the one relay control both?
Perhaps I don’t know as much as I should. I have an battery isolation switch that I turn off when not using the car so as not to drain the battery - so the windscreen would never be left on, also that's why I suggested a switch that was lit up when on. I don’t use half my relays so could one...
Just took a look at the site and as clear as day saw the wiring diagram!! Why would we need a relay? And what would the relay do with regards a heated-windscreen? Surely a simple on/off switch would do and once the screen has cleared you'd turn the switch off, perhaps if the switch was lit...
Thanks Adam/James. Will take another look at the site as didn't see any wiring diagrams originally. Blimey 25 amps is fairly heavy-duty but no doubt the old heater or fan would be a similar draw and I can use that feed. Hi James - when you say seal around the edge of the glass, do you mean with...
Are these easy to wire in as a retro-fit? Presumably all they’ll need is a fused switch and say the live that used to go to the cigar-lighter or similar?
I've found 888's to be fantastic still on track when wet, just like in the dry get some heat into them and they're fine. As said above wouldn't want to drive them through standing water but haven't come across any yet on track as normally do Brands and its all banked corners.
Re: THE DEFINITIVE GUIDE to turning off airbag lights (with pictures) no resisters ne
Do you have a PH1 or 2? As discussed above this doesn't work on a PH2. If you do have a PH1 then something else is obviously wrong. Either way you can just connect the wire again and at least be back to...
Thanks Chris, yes James is definately a nice bloke, always happy to provide a bit of advice when i'm swearing at the car because somethings gone wrong. Will let you know how it goes tomorrow night.
Thanks Chris, I'm hopefully tomorrow evening taking the car to James Stone, formally of JMS, who used to work on the car. Will let you know if it falls through. Thanks again, Mark.
To cut a very long story short I've replaced my dashboard loom twice now as I buggered my old loom and then once I fitted the first replacement realised it had been previously partially stripped back so I replaced it a 2nd time. Prior to fitting either I had no lights appearing on the clocks...
Re: THE DEFINITIVE GUIDE to turning off airbag lights (with pictures) no resisters ne
Snipped wire No. 7 last night and its all sorted now, the SERV light turns on and off again along with the other lights and the Airbag light is permanently turned off. To those that are worried about...
Re: THE DEFINITIVE GUIDE to turning off airbag lights (with pictures) no resisters ne
Well I remember it being something like just snipping one of the wires in the ECU plug and it did the trick then. I know that the PH2 and onwards all have different looms/fuse-boards/UCH's from the PH1 so...
Re: THE DEFINITIVE GUIDE to turning off airbag lights (with pictures) no resisters ne
May the farts be with you.
Coincidentally I've just spoken to James and by cutting wire 7 in the plug that used to go into the Airbag ECU it grounds the light on the dash - I remembered it being something...
Thanks Bobby but you're a good 100 miles away, am after someone hopefully a little nearer but will give you a shout if I cant find anyone. Thanks again.
I need to have some lights on my clocks turned off - ideally I would pop around at the weekend or after work one evening and would obviously pay for your time, thanks Mark.
Re: THE DEFINITIVE GUIDE to turning off airbag lights (with pictures) no resisters ne
To be honest I cant remember whether I did it or whether James Stone did it for me when he used to work on the car.
But either way, nothing has changed at all other than simply swapping the dashboard looms...
Re: THE DEFINITIVE GUIDE to turning off airbag lights (with pictures) no resisters ne
To cut a long story short I've just replaced my whole dashboard loom and now need to turn the Airbag & SERV lights off but cant remember how I did it with the old loom. I don’t have any airbags or the airbag...
Thanks. The colour and depth are fine, hopefully with some 2000 tonight the little minute bits will be polished out, I just wondered if for any reason I needed to lacquer it.
