Noted but like previously mentioned I've already used a rattle-can and the finish is fine for what I need, once I've polished the odd spec of dust out with 2000 the finish will surprisingly actually be perfect. Its only the old radio/centre air-vent surround in my PH1 track car which was...
Thanks. Have been using a drop of washing-up-liquid when wet-sanding with the 1200. Obviously the problem with using a rattle-can and also not having a spray-booth is that the paint gets the odd bit of dust in it before it dries, so next time I'm out I'll pick up some 2000 and then polish it...
I've sprayed a piece off the dashboard myself with a rattle-can, the finish is pretty good having sanded the piece itself and then the primer and also in-between each couple of coats all with 1200 wet & dry. My question is how fine would I need to go down to after the final coat to then be able...
Thanks Mick, again much appreciated!!
The mistake I've made is that I've fitted a 2nd-hand loom which has had a few bits stripped out already so I don’t know for certain what's actually working or not. The car appears to be running fine and everything seems to work perfectly, the only...
Thanks Mick - much appreciated!!
Long story short - I've just fitted a 2nd-hand dashboard loom and the handbrake and STOP lights are permanently on. The loom has previously been partially stripped-back and I unfortunately don’t have the wire going to the handbrake anymore so I cant ground it...
I have 15 relays in the main relay/UCH board, does anyone know where I can find a list/guide of what they all do? I've had a search on here and on the internet but can't find anything. They are lettered A - Q, missing out I and O. Thanks Mark.
Do you happen to know how they fix to the bumper? - The fog-light surrounds clip in one side and have a screw/s the other side to hold in, the pictures of covers I've found on t'net don't look to have any holes for the screws??
I've previously removed my fog-lights and modified the housings to improve cooling to the front brakes, but I now want to be able to blank them off when its cold or raining. Was there ever a base model Ph 1 that had blanks instead of the fog lights? If so does anyone know the part number, or...
Thanks James. Too many little gremlins to explain but like you say I think I must have pulled an earth wire out of one of the connectors and therefore don't think it's a simple fix. I'm on the hunt for a replacement loom.......
Both earths are connected. When I press the window button the instrument panel flickers. Also the panel doesn't illuminate or randomly the rev counter doesn't work and the windows are now stuck part down (It's in a garage so not too much bother). I admit I've fcuked it up and in truth seeing how...
Nice Orange there James!!
Sorry to hijack your thread for a moment James but I'm desperate and I thought you or some of the regulars on here might be able to help - I need to get hold of a PH1 172 dashboard loom. To cut a long story short I had a go at stripping it back and obviously I fcuked...
Bugger, thanks guys. To cut a very long story short I fcuked up stripping back my old loom, even though I took my time obviously something's gone wrong because everything is going haywire. It would be easier just to replace the whole lot, looks like I need to find a PH1 172 loom then!! Let me...
No problem James and thanks for your help on this. The 07's, along with the rest of the shopping list, will be arriving at some point towards the end of next week so will pop them in next weekend and take it for a bedding-in session....!! What's the next job on the race-car?
Have just come off the phone again with Matt at Alcon, he confirmed that there is definitely only the one pad shape & length that will fit our H-type callipers - there are small differences in pad depth but as I have found out from looking on the different manufacturer's sites only by a mm or...
A-ha I see, my 'old' Pagids are the same dimensions as your correct pad diagram and my new 07's are exactly the same dimensions as the 01's so it looks like I wont be gaining any pad surface but the 07 compound will hopefully make a big difference!!
I found the correct calliper details myself on the Alcon site, I don’t think there is a '26' so must've just been a typo as they're all 28-32/32 or 28-38/41 Have also spoken with Alcon and PF again and in the end ordered a set of the 07's, same part number as your 01's but the 07 compound. I'm...
Thanks Fred. The part number on mine looks to be exactly the same CRH304/28-38/41RL, other than the 28 rather than your 26, but perhaps this is just badly printed on one of our callipers. Regardless I guess it refers to the disc width they'll accept. I took one of the pads out and drew around...
Thanks, but it wont take 5 minutes so I'll get the part number off mine tonight to be sure. I could've got crossed-wires regarding the pin but will confirm with Alcon again tomorrow. I spoke with a very helpful guy at PF called Charlie, I learnt a lot about the different torque characteristics...
Thanks James, I've just spoken with a very helpful guy called Matt at Alcon, I just need to get the part number off the back of the calliper and he will be able to tell me exactly which B-Type calliper I have and which pad sizes are available. Apparently swapping the pad retaining bolt around...
