Noted, although Engine Dynamics know what they're doing and they haven't seen any problems on their 275 kit with the various temps so I should be alright with 'only' 250.
I’m going to fit some new braided hoses (and discs & pads) and just want to push a drop of fluid through the hoses.
Will put some ‘standard’ fluid in so I don’t need to worry about a full flush and therefore the ABS pump (I think – is this correct?).
Was looking at getting an Easybleeder but...
Thanks, missed that one.
I've been told that the standard IC’s are barely up to the job as standard let alone if the engine has been mapped, therefore the first thing to do regardless is an uprated IC. Obviously If I’m fitting an uprated IC then it would be rude not to have it mapped....
I know there’s a lot of ‘experts’ out there but has anyone actually tuned their 220 yet, if so what did you do please?
I’ve booked mine at Engine Dynamics for an intercooler, filter, induction hose and re-map, should hopefully be around 250bhp.
(Apparently none of the 220’s actually come with...
It appears the original fit Pilot Super Sports have been superseded with the Pilot Sport 4 S (I’ve had these on other cars and they’re a great tyre) but according to Michelin they don’t come in the regular 205/40/18 size. If staying with Michelin then the ‘best’ tyre they do in that size is the...
Thanks James
I had a look myself on t’net before posting but I couldn’t find anything definitive.
I don’t have locking wheel nuts so I’m alright there, but thanks.
I disagree and it has worked on other forums I’ve been/am on.
Many posts don’t give an indication as to what MK its IRO. All MK’s have different sizes & specs of everything, therefore if for example the question was “what size is the xyz-bolt” and it was put in the MK2 section then the poster...
Just a suggestion, but what about separate sections for the different MK’s? I.e. MK 1 (can’t remember what they were other that the Williams’) MK2 (172/182), MK3 (197/200) and MK4 (200/220)?
Unless I’ve missed it I can’t find anything in either manuals....
There is a PDI form where someone has written checked & 110nm, but this seems a bit low to me.
Does anyone please know the correct Renault specified setting?
Thanks!
I had a black 350Z and then a few years later a dark grey 370Z. I loved both and don’t think there is a lot around that can beat them for style for the money, as JB21 has said though they are more cruisers than sports cars, more a poor-man’s Aston DBS than a poor-man’s 911. I’m not for one...
Have a chat with Andy at Engine Dynamics, he will give you the facts and truth about whether it’s worth fitting one or not. If he’s selling one then he will have tested it and found gains, he wouldn’t sell one just for noise.
Thanks.
So what’s the difference between the Sport setting set to race and the Race setting itself?
Regarding the steering then, presumably you’ve left it in normal when in the Normal setting and then sport (or whatever it’s called) when in the Sport & Race settings?
…I did notice a bit of...
I tried messing around with the settings at the weekend, my Sport setting was previously set to snow (I think it was) although it was a definite improvement to how it felt in Normal.
So I changed the Sport setting to sport and then to race, there didn't seem to be a huge difference between the...
I finally jacked the car up yesterday, the light was fading though and I didn’t have the time to remove any of the many under-trays to see what actually was underneath.
So on the left side of the car I jacked it up using the rear jacking point (which raised the whole side of the car up) and put...
In my old RS Megane I think (could be wrong though) that the Sport setting relaxed the traction control and then it was fully off in Race.
The 220 manual isn’t clear though regarding this and it looks like Sport doesn’t effect the traction control at all but just the gearbox and throttle (which...
Thanks
About 5 years ago I used to have a 172 (and before that a 200) and can’t remember where I used to place the stands....
I didn’t think we were meant to use the rear beam…?
Apologies if this has been covered before but I couldn’t see anything for the 200/220, nor on the interweb.
I’m fine with the jacking points, but I need to leave the car on stands for a few days while I take the wheels off.
Where are the best places please to put the stands underneath?
Thanks!
I have a small chip on the silver part of the rear bumper (presume this is the same silver as on the front blade), does anyone please know the paint code?
Many thanks
Looks great that and now on my shopping list as have needed one for a while. Quick question - one of the photos has the vent bolted to the underside of the roof, how does the scoop then fix to the roof?
Have you tried pulling it down using the pivot bar thing, which presumably is still inside the bush, as a lever?
Otherwise, yes that's all I would do - just take your time and eat away at it.
Unfortunately dust is a by-product of better pads, my PF 01's cover the side of the car and cake the wheels each day out but then the car stops on a dime.
Don’t know if the RC5's are still around but make sure you get the RC5+'s.
Its obviously not for me to tell you what you should do with your car, its just that you're running a lot more camber on the rear than the front.
If you cant increase the camber on the fronts then just take the rear shims out permanently until you can.
Its actually a really easy job, say 1...
