As above. Will be buying some from R-Sport this week, just wanted to know if anyone knew what the differences were, or had any photos of the 197/200 seats. Thanks, Mark
The screen is fitted!!
Just need to sort out the electrics now. I've extended the two sets of two wires attached to the screen and fed them into the cabin through some small grommets. Have already bought two 25A in-line fuses which I will feed directly from the battery isolator switch, a...
Apple stated to me that they don't repair their products anymore, obviously good for the OP if they do but just relaying what Apple customer service told me. I benefitted financially from them telling me that so no reason for them to have lied to me.
As far as I know they don't even replace batteries any more, but I could be wrong. Temporarily and with regards the photos have you tried connecting it to a PC/Mac?
Sorry to be the bearer of a bit of bad news but Apple now don't repair any of their products, they only offer replacements and then due to an EU recycling law they test and re-use all the working parts in brand-new products. So for example a 'brand-new' iPhone 5 may have the battery and...
James/Adam, two quick questions - just checking when you say seal the screen in that you mean with the window bonding sealant and make sure it has a bead all the way around covering the edge of the screen? With regards the switch, presumably this has to be one that switches on as you press...
The OEM seat rails must've made up the 42mm difference, so when JMS fitted my old Bimarcos they had to make up the difference on the outside sides with the alloy spacers. Now I've removed the sliders and bolted everything to the floor I've just re-used the spacers and everything is still level...
How did you get on Kelv? One little tip - my catches were collecting water so I drilled a small hole in the lowest corner inside the catch so the water drips through into the hatch inner skin where it then drains out through the drainage holes in the bottom (like the doors).
I was planning on drilling a couple of small holes, with grommets, to behind the dashboard rather than the wires running along my OCD cleaned & Waxoiled scuttle-panel.
Thanks guys, I'm ordering it from the link you provided Adam so hopefully it will come with the same 4 wires. If I haven't done the circuitry by then I can have it fitted and sealed in and then connect the wires up at a later date. TBH I think I'll be ok with the circuitry, like I said I have...
Thanks Adam, so the screen will come with a length of wire/s attached to it and I could just have it fitted and join the wires to the circuit at a later date?
James, quick question - what connections do the heated elements have, i.e a couple of spade connections, or may be a length of wire etc?? Also would I have to have the car connections in place before the window is fitted or could I have it fitted and then sort the electrics at a later date? -...
Thanks for the link James. I have a spare relay board so I can plan which spare sockets to use and how to wire the windscreen in before I do it for real. Wish me luck....
Hi James. I'm finally getting around to ordering a heated screen and am ok with the wiring now. Do you please have a name/model/photo for the timed relay - possibly the one for the rear screen would do? Thanks Mark
42mm long spacers (25mm OD, I have milled the ID out a bit to 8mm now so can't remember what they were originally, possibly 6mm as they screwed to the old OEM slider) as the centre sides of the OEM sliders, and now my 'brackets', bolt to the flat section of the floor directly either side of the...
Coincidentally it was Bimarcos that I used to have. JMS originally fitted these to the OEM sliders using Bimarco side-mounts and custom brackets. There was always a 12mm spacer in-between the side-mount and seat. I have since removed the OEM sliders and bolted the whole lot directly to the...
I'm sure someone more qualified than myself would be able to confirm but I would've thought that the forces involved in an accident would simply rip a captive nut from a harness bar. The stress-plates fitted under the chassis when fitting harness eye-bolt points are approx 3" wide......
Thanks Christopher. The side-mounts are a bit of a hybrid/own design (machine shop made) as they bolt directly to the chassis using the original bolt holes that the original seats used. So I don’t actually know if they ever were meant to bolt directly to the seat. I suppose a penny washer...
You look to have done a good job there. I've done a few bits myself and its not that easy to do. (I personally don't like the white side-strips, think they'd look better black or matching green but its only my opinion of course)
Is there normally anything between the side-mount and the seat itself, i.e a penny washer, or even a thicker washer, or are the side-mounts bolted directly to the seat? Thanks.
Get your old man to say he has a 3" (lap straps, shoulder straps are 3" and crotch straps are 2") 6-point Magnum harness (in blue) with the steel adjusters, the buckles are black.
TRS are also really helpful, I've had replacement parts sent out free before from them. Just ask them if you could purchase four 3" buckles, cant see why they wouldn't.
Give Willans a call, they've always been really helpful to me in the past, I'm sure they'd be able to provide the buckles separately. (New harnesses are abut £150 each)
For anyone that's interested I've ordered a new set of matching 30mm front / 25mm rear spacers so will have my Eibach 25mm front / 20mm rear spacers available soon. These are to be used with a stud kit, the front spacers accepts studs and the rears slide over studs already screwed into the hub
I haven't seen a harness like that before. After all that, I think you're probably best with your original idea of obtaining a buckle to use with the other part of the harness. It looks like it might be an old harness though and they're relatively cheap new so why not buy a new one which you...
Hi James, sorry to hear about the latest bad news. Excuse my ignorance, but if the existing bleed nipples are say M6 (or whatever they are) could you not tap an M7 or M8 hole and fit a bleed nipple with a larger diameter screw but the standard size nipple, I'm sure there must be some available...
