Am I right, the wipers arms have to come off, the scuttle and the bottle has to come out - will it come out without disturbing anything else e.g. the wiper mechanisms?
Do I need a puller for the arms - on splines or tapers?
You might be right about it!
Having looked into this more carefully and referring to an exploded diagram of the washer system, it looks like the pipes must have been reversed on the windscreen pump.
I have not picked up on this 'till recently as have not really used the washers, will have to...
Hey, heres a strange one but don't ask how....
Wiper/washer stalk pull towards you - front wipers and rear washers work.
Using the rear wiper control on end of stalk - rear wipers and front washers work!
e.g. somehow the washers are working the wrong way round.
Could it be the switch wiring...
I will not be using the car in ice/snow or even the wet, but can see your concern on a frozen cover, it remains to be seen whether (sic) that is the case.
Thanks all for the advice.
I'm sure its better to have one fitted than not in extreme weather, but only time will tell, will report back in 10 years.......
Anyone use or has used a car cover, if so what is the best type and how reliable.
I had a quick look around and there are some that are breathable (water resistant) and some that are waterproof, anybody had experience of either and pros and cons?
I cant afford a tailored cover so a ready to...
Thanks for all the feedback, at first I found the Connects2 only having an ipod port which I don't use/need, but then found another one does have a USB and a SD port which would probably do the job - this looks like a good alternative to the expensive Tunepoint, I'm in no hurry so may look...
Thanks Doc. The 'Tune Point' idea sounds very good and would suite my needs although it's a bit pricey at £180+.
I feel a christmas present coming on.....
Howeve on the Renault site it says; "It should be noted that it is not compatible with vehicles equipped with Cabasse radio CD players or a...
I have now fitted back in the old Cabasse Radio/CD, I guess it looks like something out of the 1970s but beneath that dull exterior is quite a good spec radio.
Somehow it looks right and I must say I like it and find it much easier to use than the blingy Sony it replaced.
Well there's no mod...
Hi
My car came with an aftermarket radio/CD
I think I have found the original Cabasse CD/Radio - and my question....
Am I correct in thinking that the radio display will appear on the dash where where the time/temp normally shows as the Cabasse does not have a display?
The current set-up is...
The wires 'felt' OK, the plug is in a sod of a place to get at, voltages are coming off the pre-cat sensor now and 'behave' something like on the trace.
Voltage was not fluctuating at all on the old sensor.
As another thought - if the heater voltage is not present on the O2 sensor (is there a...
Clio 182 standard spec.
Originally, I had the emissions light on continuously, after recently using simple OBD, it showed two faults - post-cat O2 sensor and pre-cat O2 Sensor.
Have replace both of these sensors as this seemed the likely problem.
Emissions light can be cleared via OBD, but...
This has surely been covered many times before but here is my tupence worth which may interest, especially those with limited mechanical knowledge who want to 'have a go' at fixing this annoying problem.
Since taking ownership of this car (RS182) it had the annoying buzz from the roof light...
Thanks for all the advice,
Shocks don't appear to be leaking, but I'll have a check around the suspension again
The 'pull' like into like where a drain is lower seems more pronounced at low speed - makes me think it's on the front end, the cup suspension is quite hard, I'm a bit of a softie...
Hi Guys
The car is a RS182, owned a few months but driven very little (perhaps 100 miles or so)
I have noticed that it is sensitive to road camber - on occasion lightly pulling in the direction of camber, is this a normal consequence of the 205 x 16 tyres or what?
I have also felt a bit of...
Well I tried a T40 and it's too big, a T30 is too small
Strange?
Must be a T35 or something else between but don't have one of those - not in the usual sets?
hi
Can anyone explain what is the difference between ZR and R rating
On my 182 with cup sup pack, I have Mich. PE2 ZR's, front has 87W and rear 83W all are ZR rated.
Is it right that the cup-sup cars had stiffer side-walls and is that anything to do with the load or ZR rating -is there a...
I had a set of those mats recently, they are the dogs, a bit pricy but what isn't, too nice to put your feet on though.
Could be the dealers are clearing out old stock, may not be so readibly available in future.
Hmm, no one knows or cares, so here is a follow up for those who may be interested.
As mentioned, the splitter had been snapped through and repaired before but the joint had been filled with black slicone solvent by the previous owner and looked a bit ugly (I don't mean the previous owner)...
I had exactly the same symptoms as you are describing, it turned out to be a low votage (3v) on one of the two feeds to the ECU, I didn't do the diags. myself so can't be specific, but it could be a dirty connection in the plug or socket (ECU side), there are some electrical cleaner aerosols...
Hi
When I aquired the car (182) the splitter was cracked in the centre and previous owner had done a bit of a botch repair with some black silicone stuff?
Didn't bother me too much as I had other things to sort.
B*gger - caught it on a kerbing and it seperated at the centre and is asking to...
