Hi Tony, I had'nt come across removing the arch liners before, does this make a big difference? I've already removed the fog lamps and cut a hole in the liner to let the air through, is it worth removing the rest of the liner? Also do i remove all the liner or just specific parts? Thanks, Mark
I ‘m going to try bleeding my brakes myself following a track-day yesterday, the fluid is new so just want to check for air bubbles in the callipers and push a drop of fluid through the callipers.
Am fairly mechanically competent and will do it the old fashioned way and get somebody to push...
Just filling in some details on my 'Harry's Lap Timer'App and I need to know the Drive Ratio?
And also if anyone knows them each of the 5 gear's ratios?
Thanks!!
I never noticed the LSD whining – not above the supercharger anyway!!
Lovely little car that, obviously side-tracking a bit but we had a new Turbo S-Works for a week when ours was being fettled and it was rubbish (IMO!!) compared to the ‘older’ supercharged version, felt more like a Golf GTI...
An LSD is on the cards at some point, what are the differences between the Quaife and the Gripper?
My wife used to have a Mini Cooper S-Works with an LSD and that was fantastic although I never took it out on track.
Doesn’t matter how noisy it is as it’s a track car.
Thanks
If you like the RC5+’s you’ll love the RC6’s – fantastic stopping power and feel on the standard calliper. OK on the road as well, but just need a little heat in them.
Give them a call, they nearly always pick up the phone 1st time and have always been realy helpful with me, even sent stuff out same day and in one instance free.
Thanks J, much appreciated. Like I said it’s a work in progress and still much to do. But because it’s not my daily drive I don’t have to compromise on anything, I guess if it was a daily drive it would get tiresome as it really is too raw and fast (and stinks of petrol!!) for the road.
My name in the real world is Mark. Thanks mate, the car has taken a year or so and is still work-in-progress. Your front definitely does not need to come down more, stop this silly 'for show' thing and make it a proper track monster!!!!!!! November 8th at Brands……………
I have the Pure kit, does what it says on the tin, no problems at all and the wheels and nuts have been on and off dozens of times, makes locating the wheel and nuts a lot easier.
My PH1 172 doesn’t have a centre hanger? – Is this correct?
Or may be it’s that the KTEC supersports exhaust doesn’t have an ‘arm’ to make use of a hanger therefore it was removed??
Yes mate very much so and because part of the set-up is their EC1 ECU you have the ability to re-map should you add any cams and/or larger injectors, different exhaust etc etc in the future. Speak with Matt Faulks, he is an ECU boffin and genuinely great friendly guy and will go through all the...
The headwork will be because I’m soon having the cams and larger injectors fitted and while its in might as well have the head looked at by Matt’s ‘head’ guy.
To be honest I can’t remember how long they are, I would guess may be 20cms (possibly more). We removed the slam panel and made a...
No didn’t miss the point at all. I was making a point myself that with all the work I’ve had done I’m only just over the 200bhp mark. And the 2nd point was what work would be needed for any additional power on top of that.
Don’t be too hasty to criticise. Lol .
202BHP & 175lbft from ITB’s (courtesy of Mr Faulks.) with longer trumpets having removed the slam-panel, ECU1 etc, Ktec/Janspeed Stealth exhaust, de-cat. Etc.
(Next step is cams, injectors, headwork and a re-map, should be good for another 20bhp.)
