Can get hold of a new pair of Toyo RS1 slicks (GG compound) cheap and was wondering if anyone had ran slicks up front and R compound tyres at the rear? The rears will be Pirreli Trofeo R's which are pretty much a cut slick anyway, all 4 tyres are 205/50/15. I would purchase a full set of slicks...
Guidelines:
1. At the start of each month a track and car are chosen by the driver with the fastest time from the previous month. If the same driver is fastest two months in a row then the track/car choice falls to the next fastest driver. The car & track should be chosen within a few days of...
Anyone fitted one of these from CMC Composites? Snapped my cup splitter last time out at Oulton and need a replacement.
Or are they just for asthetics only? If so I'll just get the Fabia splitter.

Yep I thought that mate when I picked mine up back in 2007, only had 25k on it mind but it did feel solid. By the time I traded it in on 100k & 5 years later and it still felt solid, and the only thing that got replaced in that time (excluding consumables) was a clutch and radiator which popped...
Yep owned the ep3 as well (5 years) and was a great car, just lacked that bit of torque and refinement to make a great daily for my commute so traded it in for a Mondeo ST220. The S2K however fits the bill, if not shouting mid life crisis, lol.
Dunno yet mate, contemplating getting rid of the Mondeo ST daily and Clio track car and just having 1 car as a daily and to do a few track days in as the Clio sits idle 95% of the year and just seems a waste.
S2K or M3 maybe with spare track wheels and brake pads.
Probably put £6-7k into it (inc purchase price) so someone will get a nicely sorted car for not a great deal of money. Should have just bought one sorted like this really... but where's the fun in that!
May sell up at the end of this year (September) and move on to something RWD. All info given as an estimate as of the end of this year after 2018 track days completed.
£3k?
Clio 182 FF (Both cup packs)
Titanium silver
2004 (04)
MOT 01/09/19
110K miles

Road legal (rear and passenger...
Could be wear indicators on the inside pad scoring the back of the disc or even just debris stuck between pad and disc. Just run your fingers around the back of the disc feeling for score marks.
I done a full year on APEX springs and cup shocks and found them great for the money on track. If you have £4k spare though decent coilovers are worth the money. Have a look at BC DR coilovers from Kam racing as they are very reasonably priced for what you get, especially if you go for the...
No point spending money on a mint Clio for track, keep what you've got as it'll only end up in the armco at some point, lol. If you want more power look at getting some 197 cams or even catcams. You can pretty easily get 200hp per tonne from a Clio which would equate to a part stripped Meg 225...
Stick with the Clio to learn a bit of track craft, then once you've reached the limits of the car consider an upgrade to something like the R26, the others you mention need a good few quid to get them up to scratch for track, the R26 however is good out the box with tyres and brakes.
I keep...
There must not be many decent drivers about in the Honda fan club then as I've never really had an issue with the ones I've come up against on track.:tongueclosed:
On a serious note though you are right, its just the ep3 takes a bit more skill to get the full potential out of them, think it's...
Having owned both the ep3 and 182 its such a tough one to choose a favourite, as a daily the ep3 nudges it due to build quality, interior, driving position and gearbox. The 182 however is much more of an event to drive, with that torquey engine and go-kart feel, however on track if that's your...
Thanks for the heads up mate but you want to see the state of my lid, its like I've had an off on a bike its that scuffed and scratched, so no need for a bag to keep it shiny and clean, lol.
Refurbing all my callipers and need a way to cap off the lines whilst the callipers are off the car for a week or so, was thinking a m10 dome nut like the below on the end of the lines? Any other ideas appreciated.
@Niall what did you use mate...
