I've just done this step. But I had to as my cage won't fit otherwise. It's not so bad, I still have all my controls as I did before, in a slightly different position albeit. The heater/fan is still in there too (for now).
Every situation is different, as is every person.
I looked into these a bit when I had to decide. They seem to have a lot of good reviews from various places.
A lot of people use them in the Tin Tops series too Dave.
If you're in no rush, they come up for sale quite often. Could probably save yourself £50 or so, although I don't know how much they are new these days.
Then defo do it.
I've got a garage full of my interior, which will probably end up binned as I can't be asked to put everything in a 'for sale' thread.
But if anyone want's anything free, and you collect it, you can have it!
I'm worried now that if I ever get another car, I'll end up gutting that too lol!
Also, I do poo my pants on the odd occasion a stone flicks up in the rear arches. It's usually proper loud, and I think something has broken!
AND....it's also more practical (for me). I can get all my...
See! Dan's post sums up what I said perfectly.
Its bollox it'll 'hurt your ears'! I've got a yozza, and it's perfectly fine to live with everyday.
That's not saying what you put is wrong Dan, it's just opinion and personal preference. I would never go back at all, I have 100% no regrets.
It's pretty easy to do, some bits are a real bugger to get out though!
I've fully stripped mine, took the dash out couple of weeks ago for a cage to go in. Tbh...driving in it doesn't bother me at all (putting up with everything I mean). I drive down to Heathrow pretty regularly, that's...
Today was the first time I've ever taken a photo of a 'model', I've always steered clear of 'people photography', just because of the extra difficulties involved. With a car....it just sits there nice and quiet.....people are a bit different ;)
But I am quite lucky to be able to use the...
Nice start!
The main thing is to gradually lower your shutter speed and practice getting sharp cars.
With a 55mm lens I imagine you struggled a bit, but good none the less.
There's loads to come from the interior, surprising how heavy certain things are, like the carpets!
Depends if you want sensible weight saving, or total strippage?
All my mods with flux just got added, no cost I'm pretty sure.
I rang up the other week to ask how much to add a roll cage, terrified that they would come back and say they don't insure them, she said 'yes we can just add that to your policy no problem'. AWESOME!
Well I wanted to rip it out, until Dave realised there's pipes from the engine bay plumbed into it. So for the moment it's staying. I only want air going to the windscreen, so if you find a nice way of getting it out, let me know :)
