After seeing the MK1 Clio 16v on eBay last night it got me thinking. If you had 3K to spend (based on what the Valver is up for) what would you buy?
MK1 Clio 16V
Phase One Clio 172
Renaultsport Clio 182
Based on them all needing some kind of work but in fairly good condition, base the 182 on...
Oh yes, that steering wheel's more in keeping. I'll have another look at the ad and pics, I'm not too clued up where these sit regards pricing unlike the phase 1 172s onwards. I guess like most things individuals have ideas in their own minds what they think things are worth.
I get what you're saying 😁 good ol GT Turbo paranoia, although I know this one does run really well. Carb superbly set up. It's also finding a decent garage local in Southend to store it.
I'm soo tempted to buy my friends, this could be my only opportunity to get back into one before prices potentially get out off hand.... Even more! It comes with over a grands worth of spares including a couple of sets of wheels one set a Williams. My heart says it would be soo cool to get it...
I need a suitable storage space for it, I'd also have to buy my way out the finance agreement as there'll be a difference between the Meganes value and the outstanding balance. Doable
I've been offered a Glacier White H plate, owned by a friend for the last 13 years, always garaged. I'm tempted to pull the trigger, give the Megane back and invest in a little bit of got hatch history
First hot hatch, a 205 GTI 1.6 I bought 4 weeks after passing my test. I got bored with the 997cc 4 speed pastel blue Ford Fiesta so i took a loan about to buy this. Loved it even though it spent more time in Campions Peugeot of Lincoln where my dad worked in the parts department back in the...
Just thought I'd clear my name 😁 it was kept on the lowdown for ages, my friend a salesman for Renault at the time bought it new then sold it to him. He has loads of bodyshop photos as it was being repaired, the guy put his hand in his own pocket to have it done.
It's NOT my old car.
I sold the wheels to the chap when I part exchanged it for the Mégane 280, he then took it to Castle Combe and stacked it.
He had it repaired and was unrecorded, then sold it on.
**DEPOSIT TAKEN**
With the Coronavirus situation, having 3 vehicles, and work being sketchy there wasn't much I could do. I'd used money from the savings to buy it 2 weeks before the big C kicked in so quickly but it's needed just in case.
I'm only here for the classic CS quotes as this unfolds.

As much as I love the RS Line I think I'd miss the 330hp too much, although I don't use it that much when I do it's awesome to put the foot down. I've seen a 220 Trophy at Renault Retail a grand cheaper than the Mk5 so I'm going to make a call about that just to see what the monthlies will be...
Such a nice colour that, I popped into my local Renault dealer last week and they actually offered me the same RS Line demo car I test drove before Christmas. The Mégane 280 hardly gets used and going RS Line would free up some money on the monthly payments. They've given me numbers and left it...
Mine read half a tank, swapped the float, driven 70 miles, needles gone up to full 🤷 @Brigsy was saying to use the Clio sender and a Kangoo petrol float for it to work. I still need to see another sender to at least see if the housing is broken.
Popped down to Ashford to see Chris King. Stopped off for a breakfast in a bagel and latte en route at a place called 7Hotel-Diner where i went to for a Renaultsport meet a few months back. They often have car meet gatherings and today they had a few GT3 RS models, R34 Skyline, M2s, M4s...
Top up of Tesco finest 95 and a couple of photos this evening. I've also arranged to take it down to Ashford in Kent this weekend so Chris King the Renaultsport specialist can give it the once over and look into the erratic speedometer and fuel sender problem.
