Thanks Martin :)
When I had them off last time the bearings weren't as smooth as they should have been, cleaned them up best you can with sealed bearings and they were ok but knew it wouldn't last so thankfully ordered a new pair.
They were surprisingly rusty on the underside tbh, only light...
Thanks Andy :)
Diolch Tom, no didn't, only other place I knew of was Cornering Force and from what i've heard they take 4 weeks + to do them so thought my best chances were with BG. Had used them previously too so knew what they're like too.
Expecting call today hopefully and fingers crossed...
No worries :) Bought fair few pieces from yourself over the years and always been brilliant.
Thank you :) Haha no worries :) The adapters are slightly different for the 280mm discs to the 300mm discs that @chris powell makes. But the calipers only need machining when using the smaller of the...
Spring 2015
With Trackday coming up in April I needed to get everythin sorted and planned on getting new bits fitted. One of which were the Brembo Calipers off a Megane R26. After months of keeping an eye on ebay with all the sets on there either being too expensive, looked like theyd been sat...
Looks brilliant Mark, might be racking your brains in near future over this engine ;) Should pass the 200bhp mark quite easily with that spec if the r3 evo is anything to go by :)
He works for council garage on their vehicles but have asked him to ask if he knows if any of the local boyos use anywhere there. If he knows ill let you know :)
Yeah used good old dentist spike, it's pretty much spotless. It's just one that I've got problem with, which makes no sense lol.
Can press it in but just pushes itself out, even when I manage to push it all way in.
Rebuilding brembo calipers off megane 230.
Anyone got any tips on how to get the dust seals seated properly in the caliper recess?
Assembled them by putting the seals on pistons on bench then pushing pistons with dust seal into caliper then pushing outside of dust seal into recess.
I'm from Caernarfon area but mainly used Demon Tweeks for alignment on my Clio, not close at all but mainly know what they're doing.
Have used Bangor Tyres on Caernarfon Rd before as were honest place but they don't have much experience other than setting tracking up and had basic machine but...
Seats look brilliant :) Don't think that renault sell the Trophy Eibachs anymore, sure I read they dont but thought they had to supply parts fo 10 years or more but let me know how you get on if you don't mind.
Absoloutley gutted for you to be reading that Andy. As you breifly mentioned there I'd get a standard engine head, pistons and inlet etc (assuming the strong bottom end is ok) and get that on and running, retaing the gen 90. I'm sure between everyone on here parts could be sourced cheaply and...
Go for the higher rated ones with 'extra loading' or whatever michelin call it, the normal ones sidewalls are way too soft even worse if youre coming from Exalto 2's to Pilot Sport 3's.
They might be bonded but think it's just a very tight fight and the shaft is knurled. When doing mine I had the gearshift assembly out on bench with gland/waterpump pliers on it, stillson, strap wrenches and I gave up as I felt like I was going to bend something. Resorted like Will to a hacksaw...
Have tried ducting behind standard light surrounds of various forms and design and imo they dont really work as the air goes around the side of the bumper and not forced through as you need. They'll probably help better than having none but nothing like they work on a ph1 bumper.
Imo the only...
Thank you :) None at all tbh, make sure you follow their instructions on how to use that's all. The paint likes rusty surface as it's designed to and doesn't really like clean steel though.
Bilt hamber has a great range of anti rust products
Yeah it's 5mm off the mounting face mate.
