Mine will be going here at some point, heard nothing but good things about him. Hes like the "Fred" of the mx5 world!
Alright Dan, what happened to your 182 mate? I can meet you again with some Brembo rear pads if you like.
If you plan on doing a lot of track days then you should think about getting a cheap set of 15 inch wheels as the tyres are a lot cheaper, especially if you plan on getting R888 or...
As everyone else has said buy the best you can afford, if that means waiting for another pay day to come round then wait. The tyres from the bigger brands tend to last longer aswel.
Went to a job at work lately were a young lass had ended up in a farmers field in her car on its roof. Clear b...
You literally take the paint/1mm off the "tabbs" at each end, as Keith says its to allow movement when the pads get hot they obviously expand so doing this prevents issues in the future.
I know the ds2500 are around £125 posted but what's the best price/going rate posted for the Pagids RS4-2?
Ive had this before, think water was getting into one of the rear clusters. Check/Unblock the drain holes and around the seal on your boot, can get leaves/grime build up here.
Check under and behind your boot carpet for signs of damp etc.
I find the standard brakes very good on the 1*2s so if for road get a good quality oem pad from the likes of Brembo, Mintex, etc.
For "fast road" the Mintex M1144 and for track the ds2500, but these are overkill and a few quid if just for road imo.
Keep the rear standard/good quality...
As it didn't leave the factory with them then they do class it as a mod yes mate.
I do the same with the f1s and i told them that they're Renault oem fit etc and he said it didn't matter. Ive got down that i rotate 3 sets of wheels, (summer, track and winter) and it didn't cost me anything...
Ta lads! :D
Just send me a PM Iain and ill sort you out mate. Payment via PayPal and sent by next day courier and i have plenty stock in, unlike most ebay companies despite what their listings say.
cheers
George
Brembo make OE discs, HC (high carbon) and Max (high carbon and grooved) discs. If a car came from the factory with HC discs like the 1*2s and meg 225 then the Brembo discs for them will be.
Hopefully sainsburys will come good again, dropped on last couple of cod releases for around £27 on day of release so if im passing ill call in.
Feck paying over odds for it to have a couple days early, and queing up at midnight outside a shop like my mate plans to is just mental tbh.
The Toyo R1R may be another choice to think about mate. They are 6.5mm new and 140 tread wear and £64 on camskill compared to the r888 which are £108 (in 195 50 15). When my r888 need replacing next year i may try the R1R out or the Yoko ad08 as similar price.
All prices are in my Traders section mate. But £79 posted for pair of Brembo rear discs with bearings in or £101 with Brembo oem pads aswel. PM me to order :).
That link looks a good price, but you will get charged £5-10 a wheel for fitting and desposing of old tyre etc. So ask a few local...
You will get more miles out of the contis so are cheaper long term as you won't have to replace them as quickly. I'd spend that bit extra on the tyres and leave the refurb for a few month personally mate.
Rear discs aren't expensive either ;)
195-45-16 on your cup. I've used both contisport contact and mich pe2s both very good road tyres. Sometimes cost co have offers on the Michelin, give them a ring.
Haven't used them myself but this place gets raved about by the MX5 lads. Steve off here uses them.

Maybe worth a call if local to you.
Might come through to this if the weather is a lot better than today, and my mate mentioned it aswel in his meg225- guessing its posted on ms.net aswel.
Whats crack for the people who aren't eating, could have a steady drive to somewhere for some better locations to take pictures as i know a...
