I'm very thankful for threads like these or I'm sure I'd be in a similar situation as OP with a loud aftermarket system that drones.
Not fun buying another exhaust but have you had a look at Supersprint? They're supposed to be among the best albeit a bit pricey.
Perhaps with a 197/200 box but as far as I know they don't fit the 172/182 engine blocks.
Didn't the ph1 have slightly longer gears?
Personally I prefer a 5 speed with the short gearing these cars have but I have to admit I'd like a really tall extra gear for the motorway.
I don't have any experience with ARBs myself but everyone seem to really rate them. One of the better mods you can do I've been told!
PMS or Whiteline. Latter can be had from either KTR or Kam Racing.
I really should have held out for a 182.. Centre exhaust tips together with a proper lowering give them such an awesome look/stance over 172s.
Orange bullets look a bit odd but looks tidy otherwise!
Personally I think they all look a bit stupid without at least lowering springs.
Don't worry about it, it'll look fine!
What wheels did you have in mind?
Undo the screw connecting the rod coming from the shifter to the gearbox when it's in neutral.
Have someone sitting in the car move the shifter slightly, tighten the screw again. Undo, adjust slightly if needed and so on.
Now I'm not completely sure how'd you adjust it to get rid of your problem...
Congratulations!
Mountune?
I've been dying to at least drive a ST after driving an EcoBoost rental in Spain last summer. Luckily for me, the local dealer won't bring one in or else I'd probably be owning one too.
I've really started to fall for these lately, especially yellow ones.
Yours is no exception, looks great!
Personally I'm sure roughly 300 hp would be more than enough for me in one of these. Surely a bit of change compared to a 172. :)
I'm really itching to pick this up but I don't have a wheel for my PS4 nor a decent PC.
Are the bugs and glitches really that bad? I'm hearing a bunch of issues lately..
How did you like the 2500s?
Doesn't seem people have tried that many different options or at least shared their experiences here.
CL RC5+ doesn't seem that suitable as I'm sure the noise would drive me nuts.
Pagid RS4 too seem a bit much for street use.
In my case I'd need something that would...
I don't have anything bad to say about the map but haven't really noticed that big of a difference either.
Low-end torque is slightly better but the idle seems pretty much the same to me.
Maybe I'll have to restore the stock map to really appreciate it I guess.
I'm replacing the brakes on my Ph2 172 soon and have decided to go DS2500 on the fronts.
I saw Kam Racing are selling two kind of Ferodo pads. Either 'Race pads' p/n FCP565H or FCP406H and 'Road pads' p/n FDS406.
I did search and have yet to see anyone on here even mention the road pads.
The...
Thanks a lot!
I'm trying to figure out whether ET13 15x8" wheels would work on my 172. You don't have more photos do you?
I'm afraid they'll poke too much with 195/50 tyres but a bit difficult to tell from that last picture.
I couldn't believe it myself but turns out it was just loose wheel bolts. Do I feel stupid now but couldn't be happier now that I don't have to fork out for a new box.
Thank you for your answers though!
Yesterday I experienced a noise from the gearbox(?) while cruising. In gear or not, engaged clutch or not, doesn't make a difference.
I doubt it's the clutch bearing as there is never any noise while engaging the clutch either stationary or on the run.
This morning it had become even louder and...
I had my windshield replaced a few weeks ago and it never crossed my mind to inform them about the rain sensor!
Luckily I got the correct UV windshield and the sensor's still there and works.
I'd assume most in this business are somewhat competent. :)
I'd say that's mostly dependent by the offset of the wheels. 215/50 do sound quite meaty to me but has a pretty much dead on circumference compared to the 195/55 I have on my OE 15" OZ F1 and they fit fine!
Do you know your wheels' offset?
I'm sorry I can't help you but may I ask how much the top mounts were from Renault?
I've starting experiencing a knocking sound too so I ordered a pair of Mepco mounts but I think I'll regret not getting OEM mounts..
