I recently replaced the dog bone with a poweflex'd one.
Immediately I could tell the upper engine mount was bad as well since the engine actually moves around on idle.
Gave my local dealership a call for a quote on the mount and they said it's both out of stock here in Sweden and in France.
As...
Cat will be kept as is.
What I'm asking really is whether the centre pipe with silencer and back box for a 1.4/1.6 are the same length and look somewhat the same other than bore size as their 172 counterparts.
Are you sure about the hanger mounts?
I've bought both exhaust hangers through the local auto store using a Clio 1.6 plate as no parts would show up for the 2.0. The parts turned out to be identical and I believe even the part numbers are the same.
I'm only interested in a catback so can't see...
What exactly other than bore size differs the 172 catback from a 1.4 or 1.6 catback?
Reason I'm asking is a company is offering exhaust systems in stainless steel for 1.4 and 1.6 but no Sports. I asked them if they could make an exhaust with a slightly bigger bore for my 172, but unfortunately...
Been playing this for a couple of days and now I really regret not getting this sooner.
I play with the DS4 and it's actually far more playable than I first thought. Although reading comments on here and other forums, I'm sure it was way, way worse back when the game was first released.
Anyway...
@iain187 Do you use the DFGT on your PS4? If so, how'd you get it to work?
I have an old DFGT laying around but I've read it's not supported on the PS4 which is complete bull poo..
This game is now on sale on Playstation Network!
~£25 but could also be Sweden only or whatever but thought I should mention it.
Downloading it at the moment, just hope I won't be disappointed.
Glad you kept it!
I'm looking at doing the reverse, replacing my 172 with a 197/200. :)
What exhaust are you looking at?
Also, how are the exhaust manifolds on these? Are the welds as prone to break as on the 197 units?
I lowered the suspension last night and immediately experienced the same thing.
I get these aren't really for a slammed ride but I personally found the drop quite moderate, a finger between fender and tyre, but it would still catch on the liners.
How do they do it? I'm thinking of those with R...
Oh believe me, had to tell them more than once that washers must fit but they'd argue otherwise.
Just picked the car up and what do you know, the washers did fit..
To the OP, trust me, buy genuine parts, it'll save you both money and mind in the long run.
I bought both discs with bearings and...
Funny enough, I have my car at a garage at this very moment due for replacement discs.
I just got a text saying the washers don't fit the new discs. Well, they fit but the disc is poking further out thus the caliper won't fit..
Surely they are doing something wrong..
I can hear something similar just as I pull away from a stop.
I'm not sure but I believe it's the heat shield on the subframe hitting the steering rack and/or exhaust manifold.
Exactly.
Early 197s in 6th gear will still turn ~4000rpm at 80.
However, I do agree that a slightly longer, sixth gear would be nice at times in the 172.
I'm in Sweden so steep shipping is the main issue.
Two new shocks and a few other bits ordered from Renault Wolves while at work today.
Got laughed at by a colleague as why I'm buying "Exhaust hangers from the UK".
Took the car to work today and it does feel better with increased stiffness.
Phoned the local dealership, they want £80 for the rear damper, each!
Sigh..
I bought them used without a receipt and shipping alone would probably be as much a pair of new dampers. Thanks for the tip anyway!
I set them to fairly soft when installing them, 10 clicks or so which was fine when the springs were in the lowest.
I later had new Michelin PS3 installed and asked them to raise the rear a bit and I got the car back feeling like a boat, hence my suspicion of blown shocks.
I did however increase...
I'll try and swap back the old OE dampers to see if the seasickness-feeling disappears.
I was just wondering since I already have height adjustable springs, is it a good idea to run stock dampers or should I go Koni for example?
I recently installed a used set (will I ever learn?!) of coilovers consisting of H&R fronts and adjustable GAZ rears.
After raising them a tad I can tell the car has become quite nervous and the rear feels a bit loose and I'm fairly sure it's the rear dampers.
Either new OE dampers (Cup?) or I...
The heat shield that bolts to the subframe keeps hitting either the steering rack of manifold causing a rattle at low revs. I've tried adjusting it several times but the end of it is simply too loose and won't fit firmly in between the rack and manifold.
I thought about shorten it slightly but...
