I think its the fact that they were soo sh1t is half the appeal.
You improve your mechanical skills by fixing it every other weekend - so it works as a nice hobby
You improve your bodywork skills cutting out, filling & treating the rust every other weekend - useful for when rendering/painting...
Most definately! Was arguably the best car i've had when you consider how many miles i actually do ... 650 miles to a tank was nice lol.

Bilstein B8's & Faulkner -35mm springs = perfection on the standard ARB/torsion bar.
Also you need an upper & lower OMP strut brace, tightens the front end up nicely, although the lower bar does hit everything lol.

I know you are probably more than aware already f0xy, but get the swirl flaps off it asap. Then change to the 'vortex' oil breather & clean the EGR valve. All the necessary info is in my old '320d project thread'.
