    What would cause very weak brakes? Bad stopping?

    Check for leaks but that should be noticable as there no fluid ehtn bleed the system check the calipers are sliding the the pad and disk are ok

    No abs is more trouble as the braking is set at the factory so if the back skips the brakes son't adjust braking is down to more than tyres though

    some tyres do have history but each tyre reponds differentlky to tyres none are bad so long as your not on the limit teaching a learniner to drive near the limit in a 172 isn't a great idea a 172 isn't a great learners car anyway IMO

    if the kit was fitted by an autorised dealers then its a lifetime warenty otherwise its 1 or 2 years i think however getting a spax kit to last as long as you have is good I never got more than a few k or 3 month from mine

    I'd love to see a 150 or 200hp 1.2 ok would cost a fortune but would be interesting particulaly if it was a DIY not a tunning car job

    Tyres

    Each to there own but I'd recomend the continential premium contact tyres. As for needing it to grip as your gf is learning to drive I'd say no need. If your gf is going to drive fast enough to need good tyres she could do with learning what to do when she looses is so i woulnd't bother buying...

    braking cna be affected as no abs means the car brakes more or less thna need be whihc can lead to longer braking or loose back end under braking does depend what width tyres your using and wear

    a 172 isn't built form performance though realy its built for a purpose just like a 1.2 ok you don't get 200hp a as easy as a 172 would but say 150hp a liter would take similar work level just final outputs would be different gains per hp maybe small but tunning is usually a waste anyway why...

    Why for first question the 172 shaft won't fit the dci hub though from memory you need to change the wheel bearing for the 172 one and you cna keep the oldbrakes just with 172 shafts etc

    if the ring has the right amount of teeth than the one your using then buy and use use it.
