BIGASH, is that rear camber shims with spacers?
I have a set of 16mm spacers to go on and a set of rear camber shims 1+ degree, do you think that would be to much?
OP soz for thread highjack
Looking good, I did the engine and gear box mounts last week on mine. I did find that after a long road journey your hands feel a bit numb afterwards...almost like having chill-banes.
Re: Namakubi Clio 172 Cup "track project"
Here is the video clip of 1 lap at Snetterton, it was the best lap of a evening session. It was the first time I had tested the car on track and was first trip to Snetterton (well that's my excuse anyway).

Both was a total fail. The GoPro was set too low, so could not see any of the track, only me faffing about and the iphone was recording in Harrys lap timer mode however its really shaky as the mount was a fleabay one. I will log onto a computer and post the link.
More parts to go on that I already have
4 x 16mm Huncentric spacers
Braided brake lines all round
Rear camber shims
Fire extinguisher system
RBF600 brake fluid
Passenger bucket seat with harness
V straps to convert to 6 point harness.
Parts to order and fit
Coilovers
Perspex front side widows...
great project mate, I must admit that the brake calipers do look good, but agree that 4 pots are not needed, the standard with DS2500 pads are good enough as the Clio is so light.
I spent over 2k at KTEC 2 months ago on cams, discs and a new stud axle.
I put a 4k budget on my Clio for the...
Re: Namakubi Clio 172 Cup "track project"
Im at Brands in two weeks, will be making adjustments. Will let you know how I get on with the mirrors. If its a fail, then there getting taken off....or maybe getting bolted to the doors.
Re: Namakubi Clio 172 Cup "track project"
im running ITB so the AV system was redundant anyway. So was easy just taking it out.
Same for the carbon canister. I just tied it all up in the wheel arch. I left the vent pipe open to vent vapour (think thats what is does). It may throw a fault code...
Re: Namakubi Clio 172 Cup "track project"
Regarding the mirrors, I need to strengthen the backing plates as there was movements at high speed. The actual mirrors seemed fine.
Re: Namakubi Clio 172 Cup "track project"
Went to Snetterton last week for a Opentrack track day, was the first time the Clio had been taken on track.
I am very impressed. I do however need to sort my camber out and get coiilovers.
Good to see a few other Clios on track too, anyone from here...
Re: Namakubi Clio 172 Cup "track project"
I purchased it from ebay. I never had the crank case filter on and vapour drops was still being forced out by air pressure(?) from the IM.
Here it is...
Re: Namakubi Clio 172 Cup "track project"
The ones I had on before was smaller, made the mistake of ordering the wrong ones, but they did look cool, but could not see anything out of the near side due to A pillar obscuring the mirror. These ones seem fine/
Re: Namakubi Clio 172 Cup "track project"
A long overdue project update.
Work on the Clio “track day project” has picked up again.
So what have I been up to?
I took the front seats out and replaced with one of my Recaro Pole Positions. I b*****dized the side mount to make it fit to an OMP...
Re: Namakubi Clio 172 Cup "track project"
Yes she does fly now, pretty happy with it. I bet that wad a nightmare having the bearing go on a track. Did is make a loud banging noise or was it more of a humming/wobbling sound?
Re: Namakubi Clio 172 Cup "track project"
Thanks guy, The tyres do look good, never tried Advans before, always had R888s. So should be interesting on track to see the difference.
