Im using a drink can at the mo to catch any vapour. It does fill up gradually over time and needs pouring out. Its like water with a bit of oil in there like Mayonnaise (dont even know if this is normal).
If you dont then it will surge out onto the exhaust manifold.
This is only for cars with...
Another question, why do some catch tanks have three tubes attached, like this one http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BAFFLED-2-Ltr-Square-Bulk-Head-Mount-Oil-Catch-Tank-CT6-/200456712524?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item2eac26b14c#ht_500wt_1127
Ahh I see, that helps a lot, so the out pipe to breather filter can be located anywhere right, where have you located yours?
How much build up do you get and how often does it need to be emptied?
My clio 172 is on ITB, the crank case breather pipe is open (it has a make shift catch can at the moment). But Im looking at fitting a 2ltr catch can. It has to have the type that has the level visible on the side. So main question how do you fit it, most if seen have 3 pipes going into the can...
Thanks Andy, I can def feel the car bitting on one side, almost like it snaps to the left after initial bite.
Will check it out, Im looking at changing all the brake discs anyway, however just interested to know it "was the norm" or not. Thanks for your help guys.
Took the car for a real aspirated drive since purchasing the 172 Cup a few weeks back.
Notices coming down from high speeds while applying brakes at medium to hard pressure that the car is quite skittish, moving from left to right (snaking at rear). Am I thinking that this is due the springs or...
Iv been running 8mm and 10mm hubcentrics on track and have been fine. I think if you was to go over 10mm, such as 15mm+ thats when I would start to worry.
Obviously avoid the shim type spacers
Cheers bud, will look into it, if the worst comes to the worst I will just have to have them fixed.
Other option is to sell the PP complete to another Audi owner and then buy buckets and frames for the clio....
I will look into the OPM subframes then. Looking further into it, I have been told that Recaro do one for the clio but they dont reccomend fitting it, poss due to the height of the top of the seat??
Is it an MOT failure to have a fixed seat?
Here is a pic of the current fitment in the Audi
Did a search, it threw up a few queries but not a definite answer.
I have the Recaro Pole position with side mounts, sliding frame and floor mounts for an Audi A4.
The seats and side mounts (and im guessing sliders are universal) however Recaro do not stock a floor mount for the ph2 172.
So...
Very nice project, enjoyable read.
Think it would look ace with the writing/logo on the side of the tyres painted in white, give it that proper race look ;)
Cheers buddy, Iv had the car over 4 years now, I track her too, but its starting to get expensive now replacing the consumables, hence why I am looking for a track car. Need to put the RS into retirement ;)
She is putting out a healthy 449ps not bad for a NA engine, and have also put a lot into...
