Just take it off its not that difficult realy.
two long throrx bolt hold the air bon onto the engine block as such then 2 x10mm hold the body to the manifold.
They don't check the pads or as you said remove the wheels and if the brakes work then there no failure but if VOSa stopeed your car and striped the brakes down they could have the car removed from the road.
The pads look stock though only the squeekling etc if you get any when cold could...
as said stock are fine.
Wheel bearings are pushed into the diska nd the abs ring is help into the inside of the disk for the abs to work cup 172's don't have the ABS so don't need the rings.
Personaly always get new bearings fitted into the new disks.you can reuse your abs rings though but...
Depends on the compnay some won't ever cover it. Others do it for cheap or free.
Its not the cost of the car which matter since they only replace with stock anyway its the risk your have to pay the extra for.
Depends on the insurer.
Thats because there a more race spec padsd they just tick a uprated box on brakes they don't take not of what you've fitted else you'd not be covered as the ds 2500 are not road legal.
Best practice to chnage both at once IMO if the disk are near 50% worn as well get them chnaged realy for...
You can get it for under that price plus ou do get the bigger brakes and suspenion to match the wider setup etc.
Yep swop engine and box and your cna run your hubs.
What do you mean by uprated suspension though?
Noone ever realy says about good times only bad unfortunbatly with renault dealers.
Yep very expensive disks are list price pads arn't that good but there are cheaper none Renault stuff out there. Disk can be got aftermarket cheap though rarther than the £250 they want at Renault.
172 disk...
Looks like you've put a lot of money and effort and time in there congratulations hope you like it. Enjoy your stay nice to see someone who is unlikly to follow the typical Cliosport tradition.
PROS:.... lower centre of gravity (enuf to improve handling)? Define better handling?
CONS:.... dirt in my engine (how much) ? Not an issue if you underseal the car and keep and eye on it you have the issue that you can catch on speed bumps etc if you go very low also the suspension will hit...
Get the battery checked for power car shoulnd't idle at 1k though it could be low power as when it low rpm is increased at idle also check the coolent temp sensor and Tdc sensor
Do you have a cup if so get the belt checked for tension they can go slack otherwsie get the pas fluid chnaged could be a fautly pump but the 172 suffers from to small a PAS pipe so it does affect them but belt tension and then fluid chnage would by my choice.
