I bought a cheap to run car still annoys me though.
I've poured £8k into the tank since I've owned it. Or another way I've pored £6k in the covernment coffers and £2k to the oil companies etc.
Corsa/Nova/Clio early generation disesl run on a nice mix of cooking oil or a Micra are good.
Best see what people are asking on ebay
Glasses guide says
Part-exchange Price:
Excellent condition: £4140
Average condition: £3760
Below average condition: £3310
The light comming on makes no difference to performace.
Cable tie the lambeda and plug it in when its not in the exhaust is a garenteed instal light on.
Thats very cheap for calipers so cheap I'd worry.
No point carbon pads have there weeknesses they mayabe a race pad but they do have massive side effects ie noise/dust is horrible.
Things to check
The seat belt back bolt ie where it pivots from arn't loose.
The seat to the runners bolts (4 of them on the corners of the seat) are tight
The runners have no play in them (£50 is for new ones)
Then check the 4 bolts under the car whiich hold the runners to the car...
Yep Renault CLip computer is the only decient thing out there (£5k+)
Yep your right nothing cheap is any good. Even the £3k snap on has loads of limitations.
Yep down from £32 for front or rears. However there for the none RS only models the RS 172/182 don't have option mudguards in the catalogue since stock ones won't fit due to the different wing design. You could cut the stock ones up to fit if you realy wanted as someoen has done.
I'd...
Forget doing a transplant firstly get the proper car its much easier and less hastle.
As for the problem well check the gearbox level sounds like the dearlership putting 200 miles on it were having a laught shoulnd't need to put anywhere near that much on it.
The gearbxo are never great...
IMo there nothing going to be much better I use the Halfords ones which are good. There was a review in Autocar last month I think Bosch somthing or other won try see if its still on the shelves but the Halfords ones did come near the top anyway.
IMO there not that much better but they last...
