    Saner

This morning on the A325 through Bordon. You went straight over at the roundabout towards the A3. I was in the Police Transit van giving way :)

    Clamps/cat seal ring on 182?

I should think that'll melt/burn. Cats get up to around 800 degs C.

    exhaust baffles gone

If it sounds normal then you should be fine come MOT time. If it's not noisy then the MOT tester won't notice I would've thought.

    197 - A good Police car?

Sussex have a Lotus Exige in full police livery. Apparently though, it's not used for pursuits or general patrol duties. It's supposedly for turning up at cruises to educate the "yoof" about road safety.

    197 - A good Police car?

LOL - that had me thinking too! ;)

    Police 197

Nonsense. We've got a few unmarked Octavias. Anything else you might have seen is probably out of force (i.e. another force), cars on loan for testing, driver training vehicles, or even a different emergency service altogether.

    Silver Modded Non-RS Clio, Whitehill

With black aftermarket alloys, yesterday afternoon pulled into the car park at the front of the Police Station. Had a little Spax sticker in the rear window.

    My old Racing Blue...

Yeah mine are different. That's absolutely mint. I wish my wheels were in as good a nick as those.

    Number Plates?

Yes it's illegal. I had one like that on my old 306. I drove around for months before being pulled over by an unmarked car and given a £30 wonder for my troubles, so it's not really worth the hassle.

how much does the tyre foam stuff cost for the 182(puncture repair kit)

Sounds like an Arctic Blue then. If so, they've put the stripes on afterwards.

    Heated mirror

EDIT: The above method of removal was from a previous car, not necessarily a Clio. I found a picture of the back of a Mk.1 Clio mirror on eBay...

    Heated mirror

Yes it's the same button as the heated rear window. IIRC, to get the glass off, there should be a circular metal spring which holds the glass on the back plate. It is accessible by separating the two ends of the spring, situated behind the glass, but getting to them will be awkward. If you...

    Heated mirror

Yeah the heating element is bonded on to the back of the mirror glass, with two "spade" type connectors that attach it to the wiring loom coming from the base plate on the door. If you turn on the mirrors when they are all misted up (such as when its foggy), you can see the outline of the...

    Heated mirror

Could be a loose or corroded connection onto the back of the mirror glass. Failing that, the glass itself may need replacing if the element has gone.

    172 CUP, Chineham

    This afternoon. Male driver.

    headlight adjustment

You don't get that dial on 1*2s with Xenons. They auto adjust via a sensor on the rear axle/beam thingy.

    Steamed up head light

Silica Bags are very good at absorbing moisture. Try it - if it doesn't work, you've lost nothing.

    Silver 1*2, Petersfield

Ahh... I never noticed it before on my patrols in the area. Shame if it's not being used though.

'Rear fog lamp tell tale not working'

Check the fuse first. If that's ok check the foglight bulb and replace if necessary. After that, check that the tell-tale light on the dash works. If not, then you might need to whip out the dash and replace the tiny bulb in there.

    Silver 1*2, Petersfield

Parked up on of the side roads towards the bottom of Ramshill, yesterday evening.

    Car hesitating when cold

Yeah that sounds like mine. It hasn't happened for months, and then it's done it twice in a row!

    White 197 Cup - A325 Bordon

I have no idea matey. I couldn't even tell you if the driver was male or female!

    Car hesitating when cold

When my 182 is cold, I'll be driving along at speed, then the car will just stop accelerating. If I push the loud pedal, nothing happens - it actually starts slowing down! It doesn't seem to matter if I down change to 4th. The problem does eventually go away, but as it normally happens on fast...

    White 197 Cup - A325 Bordon

Spotted coming out of Whitehill and joining the A325 yesterday afternoon. I was in the Police Volvo behind you. I have to say it did look awesome in white with black wheels.
