MK2 172 - known faults to watch for

Water leaks around the bulkhead area, mine was at the dealers for 3 months before they fixed it. The leak went into the UCH (main electrics)

I personally find the ABS cuts in far too early what would be nice is to have an adjustment pot so you can go from std to race settings.

    Exhaust Flame thrower

PMSL, you can build one for about a £5 there is only about 12 components in total. They dont work very well on a N/A car anyway, unless you get a propane bottle too.

    Sump Removal on 182

You have to have the correct gear to weld ali but its not hard, i reckon £10-15 to get someone to weld it up that would be my choice. As if any reno tech would know what to do, Ive yet to see one that can tie up his own shoes!

    Can i see your helmet

As with all safety gear buy the best you can, cheap ones are that for a reason. The fit and quality is poor and they dont last very long before they come apart. I have this one, it cost alot but the fit is perfect...

My guess would be worn suspension

    strutbrace opinions

Very doubtful you will notice any difference at all, as std suspension has so much rubber in it. The theory is sound it will make a difference to the chassis but you wont feel it.
