Re: Possible new splitter found!!
Has anyone got a definite part number for this as I've just knacked the Cup splitter I bought for £111 off eBay when I got the car and I'm sure as hell not paying the extra again for such little difference.
A cup or cup packed 182 shock wont fit.
I think the way you find out is by measuring the space between the bolts on the shock/hub - the cup/cup packed ones are bigger. It's about 60mm, I think its 54 or 56mm for the non-cup/cup packed models.
Think the springs will, but there's a difference between Cup/Cup pack shocks to normal 182/172 shocks. IIRC the bolt spacing is bigger on the hub so I dont think they will.
Got some of the Meguiars scratch x and started using it yesterday, just doing it by hand and at first I thought I was wasting my time. Having gone over the areas a few times now and putting in more and more effort I actually think it's a decent enough product.
Yeah it hasn't totally got the...

Over the 18 months or so I've had my car it's picked up many little scars - some far too easily like today on the door when the hose brushed against it and bits of grit on it managed to scratch a few areas on the drivers door. Luckily a bit of polish on it means you can't really see them, but I...
Dearer for a non-cup because of the Air-con.
You may need to be a member to see these and get the benefits (and there are others, just the first two I've pulled up):

All depends...
Depends whether it's a cup or not, but there's one or two places that do the belts and tensioners on here for about £400, a Renault dealer will charge you a LOT more and it really should be a Renault specialist you take it to.
If you look at the kit, then there's a kind of washer/thing that the bolts sits in - that has actually rotten away on the passenger side and the bolt has fell in because the bolt head isn't big enough without the washer. Obviously the gasket will now need changing, but it's not the actual fault.

After a bit of searching I've found this, I'm guessing this is the right one?
As in the title -is there such a thing?
One of the washer type things has corroded on mine, leaving the bolt slack and the spring under no tension. I've cut it out and put a normal bolt in for now, but can anyone tell me where I can get one of these (other than Renault)?
Oh and twice in the last few days the car was open when I got back to it, seemingly unlocked itself.
I also smelt a very strong burning smell coming back from work tongiht - like burning rubber, but it hasn't been there since, I think it was the village I was travelling through, but I'm a...
Over the last few weeks I've barely used my 182 and last week it stood for 6 days. This week I've been using it for work again, but you're only talking a 6 mile round trip each day with the CD, heater, lights etc on.
About an hour ago I went to the cashpoint, I left the lights and fog light on...
kev182cup?
I think it was an Inferno (only had a quick look and it was dark), around 5.30ish? I was only in briefly, parked about three cars up, but it was gone by the time I came out.
I dont normally do more than about 100 miles a week around Durham, mostly very local to where I live - but whenever I venture into Durham City, Seaham (2nd work location) and Peterlee I always see a couple.
Not common as muck, but certainly not rare either - not like when I was driving a mk2...
Searching on here as I did before there is much more negative comments than good, I've seen it mentioned they can cause problems with the coil packs too and there's even been times when the plugs have burnt out within a month.
I can understand both sides, first with the money etc. But surely the seller could hold off a local buyer for a few hours if he's got someone who has arranged to come down and see it, arranged being the key word here - give the bloke travelling down a time and if he doesn't make it, then sell it...
