Strange place for oil as PAS fluid is typically red and there ain't much else around there, does your alternator get hot by any chance ?

On a related matter, I assume any ring terminal will do - Mines just snapped off and all I could find was a one rated to 25A - tried it and it didn't melt but the battery lights coming on and off intermittently.

If it's freezing in the bios it wont be the HDD, that's possibly relating to the RAM or the processor and or motherboard failure. RAM's a solid shout, specially if you have some spare :)

Looks like I was foolish in thinking the screw/bolt holds them in lol tried to do mine with a set of adjustable grips and left it in the end - properly wedged in.

Yep pump has to come off, 3 holding the pully on, 3-4 bolts behind that and the pump comes off then 2-3 16mm behind the pump.

White Vinegar apparently removes rust but you would need a lot to dip the engine

Cheers Mick, Ive been wanting a cup setup for some time now - guess nows a good as time a ever (the tentioner seems to be about the same price) Does the cup aux setup use any rollers or is it just the belt ?

That's a massive help cheers, the steering on the PH1 is pretty heavy, however I've just learned the aux belt is about to give up as a tentioner is on belt so might not need to convert after all :)

Takes the PH1 out today and noticed a strong rubber smell, I've taken it back home and noticed the spring (tentioner?) on the aux belt is pressing against the belt !? Where is this tentioner meant to be sitting ?

I think I saw the mention of them when I skimmed the guide, they are above the pedals, really not hard to take out (Especially when you have snapped the unit it with pliers piece by piece ;) ) Edit: 4th last page in PMS guide :approve:

OCZ's support is a bit of a PITA, they are in taiwan or something - my mate sent his drive off for replacement and it was gone for weeks :( Just hoping my Agi isnt on the way out, it's failed to post properly a handful of times now.

Does anybody know if the electric power steering systems fitted to the 1.2/1.4/DCi models has a detached ecu or is it coded to the cars primary ecu ? Cheers Paul

Did this too, removed (what I thought) was every bolt and it wouldnt budge - turned out I missed 2 in the cabin ;) removed with forc in the end
