depends, each dealership might have a contract for supply with anybody they choose.
Most use castrol magnatec i think, us in HK use mobil....dunno, ask.
no, max lift isnt brought into it.
You set the engine to TDC on the non firering stroke.
And If the cam company doesnt tell you the lift at TDC then you can calculate it from the LCA. On overlap the values should be the same unless specified.
So you just rock the engine back and forth...
engine to TDC, dail gauge on inlet valve tappet, turn anti clock and youll have the lift figure for the inlet cam at TDC. If its off, adj the cam clockwise for more lift, anti for less..........this way you dont need ot read degrees of crank rotation and fiddle about.
Same for exhaust but...
yup.....that b*****d axial joint (on the track arms) where it connects to the steering rack.....i cant grip the smooth outer bit to turn it....whya re there no flats?lol
will what, the block?
manifolds, tubro?
like i said, the internals you can mix and match, run the 172 head with the exhaust cam off the turbo, but the manifolds will bolt on but not line up perfect iirc.....but then again thye might.
Its ok, i dont do the F4R very often, infact i try not to do cambelt changes at all lol.
But the price for the TDC pin and Dir.812-01 if thats possible as i know of no other tool tha can get that axial joint off!
if the engine is in the car then using the crank angle gauge means box and clutch off......
Using the lift at TDC method is FAR easier and more accurate.
yes, but running a 15w50 in the winter really doesnt help your cold starts when your at or below 0 deg. And summer track work i wont be running a 0 or 5w base.
the elf competition 10/15w40/50 is good stuff, it lowered my oil temps ontrack by over 10 deg compared to crap mobil 1 15w50.....its got a far better thermal capacity!
my oil was up atbou the 120-125 degC ontrack and pressure was falling fast.
The turbo megane uses diff crank, pistons, rods, diff block casting with oil feeds and return for the turbo, different cylinder head and cams with no VVT.
So basically the same engine, but a little different in everyway, but parts will be compatable.
spray the oil both sides and rub it in......its got enough oil in it when its not viable, but if you touch it, it will leave a thin layer on your finger tip.
the 172 lump should go in, but youll need to junk the std fueling system as the inlet manifold curls over the top of the cam cover....its not to tall without that monstrosity of an inlet manifold.
apart form that, the F7R megane bottom end goes in easy, been discussed a kabillion times so a...
They wont be warped, its either runout or pads depostits.
Ive not tried getting lower arms from them no, but i must admit that BBT does those parts easy and cheapish.
tony, circa what oil temps do you run in your clios as every 7500 miles for a racecar, even an unstressed one is a long time!
for oils, id run a thinner 0/5w40 in winter and summer a 5/10/15w40/50......but its really helpful to know what sort of oil temps compared to oil pressures your running...
OMP (cheap), Supersprint (middle) orbisound (expensive) and those are the most easily available, but youll find a multitude of systems from other manufacturers.
Not problms with the MOT as it doesnt effect emissions.
