    Early Rev limiter - Cup

ahhh......that 309, gorgeous car. And i still dont know why people love the 205, the 309 is far superior in its handling. And with the Mi16 lump in it...jesus, lovely car. Astra.....erm, nice engine lol.

    Early Rev limiter - Cup

lol.....that must be alot then! Im not to worried about the whole, cold start rag thing.....much more worried of temp and pressure on track, eventhough its probably far less important.

    Early Rev limiter - Cup

i only really look or monitor when its freezing cold, and most of th etime on track to keep an eye on everything. NOthing major, just handy.

    Wheel & tyre questions

if you swap each wheel over the outer will still be in its correct placing, no need to take tyres off.

    Early Rev limiter - Cup

oil temp and pressure are very handy gauges.

    Early Rev limiter - Cup

no... you can warm up the coolant far faster than the oil. BUT, if your engine is warm and youve been driving constantly, then oil and water temps will be around the same, start ragging it and the oil temp will shoot up to as much as 20-30 deg hotter than coolant.

    172 performance parts

THe cup racers run std cams, the larger TB iirc was from renault sport as part of a racing series where it was allowed.

    ECU and VVT

ive already read the particualrs of the F4R730, injection blah blah, and it doesnt give too much info on the operating ranges, jsut above 1300 and in a really weird way......@ WOT. whoever wrote it needs common sense.

    172 performance parts

    Anyway, yes.....Roamer is.

    172 performance parts

Kit, why do you need a kit though, all the parts are out there....and its not alot to collect.
  14. BenR

    ECU and VVT

freaking odd, ive only even checked the pahsing point, 1250 or so 1300, and i didnt check for any dephasing. And then the Renault literature didnt say anything of a dephase either. lol

no problemo, just want to get it sorted before im out on track again.

    172 performance parts

Oops, was gonna reply to this but went offline. Anyway, as far as steel H or I section rods go, youll have to get some made up for roughly 600 quid +VAT. Cams are available but not a very large selection and nothing really that wild due to the chillcast, hollow blanks they use, not everybody...

    ECU and VVT

Ok, clear it up then we can drop it, phases @ WOT @ 1300 then dephases back to the 16 deg retarded position after 4500? This sounds odd.

    Clio16v - Gearbox oil

    jesus..............

    running low on oil

oh, thought he said he used 6ltrs every 3-4k. *note to self, read posts* lol

    Clio16v - Gearbox oil

not a bugger at all. Any normal funnel with extendable/bendable bitty witty thing will fit straight into the hole. Not all Dealers keep this stuff in stock, and most of the time will fob you off with 75w90 stuff that they got barrels of. Infact Some 75w90 synthetic is fine.

    Jay172

any info on those tools matey?
  23. BenR

    ECU and VVT

Im not doubting its there to increase torque, but im argueing its not its primary function. And the rpm operating zones kinda show this. @ WOT from 1300rpm it would be making more torque in an unphased state, port velocities arent high enough to make use the overlap. And are you saying it...

    Over 200hp from 172

rather have the head worked on rather than new cams or itll just get more peaky.
  25. BenR

    CUP Hesitation@ 2000rpm

there is no choke, its a FBW throttle and the ECU controls its openings inline with what the driver commands.
  26. BenR

    Over 200hp from 172

about 1200-1500 assuming your doing the fitting of parts yourself.

Fao Ben R or Anyone Techincal (not nick)

If it reads and supplies incorrect info to the ECU, the ECU in term will supply incorrect fueling.

you cna check your lambda supply voltages with a multimeter if you wish. when hot it should be around the 0.5v mark
