My clutch pedal seems to lose tension with the clutch pretty often now. I think the cable is getting caught or the spring is useless and not adjusting properly. I sometimes put my foot down & it is slack untill right at the bottom where it will work, then itll pop back and have tension again, or...
Yeah thats my point. The way to tell ur goin quick in a VTS is by watching the needle on the speedo move, whereas u can feel it MOVE in a 16v.
Feel is decieving, thats also my point mate. A 16v decieves you into thinking ur traveling faster or accerating quicker due to the reasons stated in my...
Thats strange, when looking at quotes for new cars the guy said a term of the insurance is that the car MUST be fitted with a CAT 1 immobiliser.
Must have meant alarm & immobiliser!
The clucths biting point is usually high if its on its way out, isnt it?
Maybe just needs adjusting though. Have you tryed putting it in first then striaght into reverse?
How much does a clucth cable change cost cause i need mine doing cause its getting sticky?
Must just be the feel in the car with it being very quiet over bumps or imperfections on the road & the engine not grunting as much. Better balanced suspension so the front end doesnt sit up when flooring it, etc.
A louder noise through suspension fools you into thinking one car is quicker...
Well how would you explain how the VTS feels slow compared to a 16v. Its something to do with suspension and the power feed from the pedal.
For instance; set you revs to 4grand in first or 5grand in second in a 16v then floor it. Now that feels FAST! A VTS simply doesnt feel that fast.
I...
Yeah, sorry i wouldnt know Jack about the new 1.2s.
I think the Viper kit for the valver will be the best with an air scoop from the bumper for more air to be sucked. Then u have forced induction (as the original box was) but with a less restrictive filter and a higher sucking power. ;)
I think its the feel Adi. A VTS doesnt feel anywhere near as quick (power deliverly more even maybe, suspension harder but quieter) to drive as a 16v.
Ive heard that a Pulsar owner says that his car doesnt feel that quick cause it is so heavy and a nearly standard R5 gives you more thrills...
No way a FWD car can keep up with a Scooby 4x4 round corners especially in the rain! Just the balls of the driver!
Id go as far as saying a Scooby can corner at twice the speed in the wet, cause if u did lose it youd simply put on oppisite lock and the ASM, LSD or whatever would the rest!
A...
The higher pressure you go the better steering response and qicker acceraltion from rolling starts however the grip will be reduced cause the tyre will have less downforce (i think thats the word) and will be more likely to slide under cornering.
So standard & on a straight regardless of driver. Whatl it be; 16v or VTS? I think a STANDARD VTS will beat a STANDARD 16v slightly but a Willy should have an edge!
I know id own a 16v over a VTS anyday but the Willy IS quicker isnt it?
Stats say that were all equal to 60 but in practice...
Well Schmackers side air spliters came off in Austrailer & he didnt seem to lose any ground! So if it doesnt make a difference to an F1 car im sure road cars wont be suffering. Probably wrong though. :p
I take it both of you havent written a car off before cause nowadays thatd scare me silly, but before my wet cornering crash id have been flying round just like you two nutters! :devilish:
Somethin tells me ur either being sarcastic or REALLY dont know a lot about quick cars. The VTS & 16v play in the third devision mate. CTRs & 172s play in the second and Scooby Turbos, Pulsars, Cossies play in the first. The premier is EVOs, 22Bs, Skylines, Lotus Carltons!
A Williams will beat...
If i said it was a she does it make sense. ;)
She booted it in second & i managed to close in up to the inside of her from 2 car lengths back! I know a VTS is quicker off the mark due to power deliverly and low down torque (so high revs can be avoided to jump off the line like in small...
