    CV Boot clip

What have you done that for lol ? Thats probably worse than the Renault clips. All you need is the greece which is pence per packet (75p area) and a correct sized jubilee clip, roughly a quid.

would this be ok for filling lambda hole

Why do you need to fill the hole in ?

thick oil/grease all over driver side front wheel

Check if the tie has broken. Very common. Use a Jubilee clip mate NOT the Renault proper clips. Jubilee's are stronger by a mile. Top up with CV grease before you put the clip on. Can be had from any good motorfactors for under a pound

Was wondering where my old car went

What parts are you wanting off it mate? Engine and wheels are sold, just got the interior and a few trim bits left then we can scrap the shell only kidding ;)

Quick question on fuel consumption of phase 1's

Average mixed driving you should be getting mid 30's to low 40's. Anyone who's skirting about high 20's low 30's is either doing constant heavy city traffic, has a problem with the lambda or ragging the balls off it everywhere they go.

    Dogbone mounts

They do vibrate a bit but nothing you couldnt live with apparently. Going by the majority the plus sides of them out weigh the one bad point

Cambelt tools anyone? York/ Hull area

Ask your local Renault dealer mate. If they trust you enough they'll loan you them out lol

    Aftermarket management

Are you sure its only the mapping thats the issue with the MOT? Could it not be a dodgy lambda or some other sensor?

    Aux belt horrors

They refitted a 6 year old belt. If that aint cowboy i dont know what is ! You have to take the aux belt off to fit a cambelt

    Back to ph1?

Its meant to look like a ph1 because thats what it is ;) Its hard to tell a Sport ph2 from a 1.2 Dynamic. :o At least with a ph1 love it or hate it its easy recognisable as a Sport Clio especially at the front end

    stock vs 428 vs 421 vs c&b

You can get nice gains from cams but in terms of work fitting them and the cost vs the gains you actually get theres better options to start with. Also dont focus on peak power. Choose your cams based on what your doing with the car. Nothing worse than a road car you have to rev the tits off...

    Where would you're money go???

In other words turning it into a ph2... :rasp:

    Aux belt horrors

    Had a busy day today

The harsher the Sports are the more involving and fun they are to drive imo Quiet and comfiness looses out to what these cars are really about

    Back to ph1?

Do it !! Change the lights too. Ph1's should look like ph1's imo

    Water Pump Failure

Worth bobbing back in to see if they c**k up on the price again.

White 'charged' 172 - Fresh Pics

What offset you running on the wheels or is it spacer'd up ? Looks stunning in white. No idea why Renault never had white as a option, best colour by a mile

    maxogen

Best place for those simota IK's is the bin. Good work on the Maxi

Buying for gains waste of time. Ok for a use as a stock replacement

    Water Pump Failure

Roughly 250 to do from a Dstealer + cost of the pump (around 70 iirc)

Are you being sarcastic mate or serious? :S

    S**T I've hit a Badger

Well done on the fox strike. That probably saved about half a dozen chickens lives that night

    Clio 169.9 BHP

The @ the wheels figure ;) You could whip the engine out and bench dyno it to get a true engine figure. End of the day you might have 10 bhp more than another 172 / 182/ 197 etc but he / she might have less weight etc .. Where do you draw the line :)
  28. A

    Clio 169.9 BHP

Renault dont have a magic engine dyno that works different to everyone elses. You can get rollers that measure @ wheels and rollers that measure @ fly (most common). Fly figure is a calculation of a wheel figure iirc,.. both types of which are only as accurate as the person at the end of them.

    Incorrect Timing?

Was the timing out by a lot? You deserve a medal for putting up with that for so long lol Beef-Mc, might be worth getting the timing checked but as post number 3 said could also be just the lambda sensor. The symptoms youve listed all relate to that too.

    Incorrect Timing?

OP, Have you just had this done ? or have you bought the car like this?
