Surely an engine dyno rather than a rolling road would be the only accurate way to ascertain an engine's true output figures?
I'm pretty sure that's how Renault would have got their figures anyway.

Looks crap here…
Looks good here…
In the same way that this looks good…
They’re called over fenders for a reason.
I remember reading about a Rover V8 in Walker's Workshop (Cars and Car Conversions mag) that had air filters that were too small for it. An extra 40bhp was seen on the rollers when they took the air filters off.
Great way to reduce peak power output - why do you think WRC cars run intake...
Well it went through the MOT with no problems on emissions! They also managed to clear the fault and haven't charged me for it!
Unfortunately I hadn't figured on the lack of ABS being a problem and it failed on that. Looks like I'll be busy at the weekend trying this out...
I heard that one of the Janspeed systems is nearly as quiet as standard. I believe Roy Munson had the louder of the Janspeed exhausts and was very impressed with its low db's.
Sounds promising! Just checked with the MOT garage and they fortunately have Renault diagnostics, so if it's an issue at least they may be able to find the fault.
If that's the case I might just disconnect the battery for half an hour to see if the fault clears.
Cheers, had forgotten about this. Followed Edde's guide:

I'm not seeing any letters though, just ----
Look's like it'll need full diagnostics.
Can anyone tell me what the orange warning light is on a 182 in the bottom right of the dash directly above the green shift light? It looks like an engine to me - can anyone also shed some light on possible causes?
Many thanks,
