What OE 15" alloys are there that will fit on a Clio 182 and what are their widths and offsets?
Does anyone know the exact offsets and widths of the following:
Speedline Clio Williams wheels.
Renault 19 16v wheels.
Any others in 15".
Cheers,
For a road car I would:
Swap the front seats for buckets, ditch the rears and the isofix bar.
Change the steering wheel for a non-airbag item.
Find some light weight wheels.
Find a light weight battery.
You can take silly measures to lose weight on the car though, a standard number plate...
Is the dci 175 lump from the Megane, Laguna, etc. a 2.2 or a 2.0? If it would fit into a mk2 it could be quite a fast little mpg monster. I imagine a 2.0 diesel lump would be considerably heavier though and ruin the handling - I recall reading the 175 diesel Megane was a little nose heavy and...
Get it down the quarter mile, that'll give you an unequivocal answer as to how fast it is. Rolling roads aren't accurate, there are too many variables.
First thing to do is get it diagnosed properly. Take it somewhere with laser alignment equipment (find one here) - http://alignmycar.co.uk/ (cost me £35 at my local place)
After you know what's wrong you can take steps to fix it. I've got a similar issue after kissing a curb and I'm using...
3M Dual Lock is probably the strongest product of this type you can get. It's not the cheapest, but theives will have a tough time pulling your plate off.
I ran new PE2's on the front and worn RS2's on the rear throughout the winter. It was perfectly balanced, I'd say there was naff all difference in grip between the two. I'm not saying it's a good idea to test the ultimate grip limits in the wet though.
My previous car was burnt to a crisp in a garage fire. I only had the choice of racing blue or inferno when I bought the 182 cup from the dealer, so I went for the ironic choice.
Ferrari aren't alone in this. Just look at the 182 Renault took to the Top Gear track, it had clearly been tuned up at the most respected UK tuning specialist - Halfords.
