Farecla G3 should cut through it if a clay bar doesn't do the trick. Polish it back up properly with something finer like SRP once you've done it though.
You have a red Ph1 don't you? Take inspiration from clio_stu's old car:

Most of what was done to that can be done on a very tight budget and the end result was cool as feck IMO.
Paint code is in the drivers door mate, white sticker. Silver is crap to match panel to panel Iceberg especially, ideally you'd get a bodyshop to blend it onto the quarter.
Am I reading that wrong, or did you polish the colour up, then lacquered over it without scuffing it down again?
What JoeyD is saying is correct btw, you can sand the colour coats down with a fine sandpaper to remove nibs before lacquering and it won't affect the finish, unless you go mental...
It's the side vents that get me. It's like some idiot looked at all the chavmobile sheds on PH with flakey poorly painted silver front grills and thought "Now THAT's a proper modification, let's do that to a £17k brand new car". Hideous. That's before you even get to the G's on the stripes...
Elephant actually had the cheek to send me through a renewal quote that was £1100 yes eleven hundred f*cking pounds more expensive than their online quote. LOLs were had before telling them to match it or poke their insurance up their ring.
The majority of dealers really are complete idiots, you'd think they'd know the product they're trying to sell inside out, but no. Hope you get it sorted and as Gally says, don't let them away with welding and filling the tailgate on a brand new car. If they replace the tailgate, go over it with...
You "fort" it was the police, so you "floured" it, then you managed to be off like a "rockit" yet he was still close enough for you to wave, then you were off again, even though you were at the end of the straight apparently?
Awesome.
Elephant/Admiral/Bell. Highly likely one of those three will be cheapest.
£1700 for a 200 insured for £16k at 19 years old with 3 points, with Elephant.
