Think what i'll do is get my mate to lend me the oil pressure tester and do the solenoid thing and replace the oil with some Silkoline Pro. See how...
Mmm so really its just a case of finding out if its the cams or this dephaser.. Is there any external way of testing to confirm which it is without having to take the engine to bits?

So if it is the lifters if i carry on driving it what would happen worse case scenario?
This is what im worried about.
Dont want to be folking out for a cambelt kit and new dephaser only to find its cam connected once its all been put back together.
Running gears had a good innings with it sitting on 115k and modded more than 50% of its life.

Leave it to the experts. Too easy to go wrong doing it yourself unless you know what your doing and have all the correct tools

Jack the back box right up against the floor and bolt and adjust it all up. The weight will drop it down a bit so it shouldnt knock. Also use the pipes into the rubber mount method.
Just needs tweeking and you'll be fine

Im running Pipers re-grinds with other mods and it pulls very well indeed from really low down without having to rev the tits off it thats why i was asking about Freds 240bhp motor and what it was like lol - Peak powers not too hot on paper compared to most but the torques very good

Big 4 page spread in one of the race car mags which backed up the vid. They did all the rolling road tests etc etc and found there was differences between the higher grades let alone comparing against unleaded.
