Update. I changed the oil yesterday and it still makes the noise. Had a 3rd person agreeing after listening to it that it sounds like top end wear rather than the dephaser so it looks like new cams will be the option sometime this year. Very worried about loosing my impressvie torque...

Cams are good and do make a good difference but the games moved on and then some. TB's with cams and your going to be at what? 240 the limit for roughly 3.5k (guess) Supercharger conversion isnt much more with potential for 400 bhp! Same with the turbo conversion. Masses of potential...

Over a couple of months at a rough guess. The engine seem to have got noisier. The noise comes from the top of the engine, this is what makes me wonder if it is the dephaser? as i would have thought the noise would be clearly from the cam area. Its not as bad as sounding like a diesel tho...
