The RS tuner map is more about increasing driveability than just power gains i.e giving you a smoother power delivery throughout the rev range rather than feck all until 5k then getting it all in one go.
First thing, if that K&N is an open induction kit it'll probably be losing you power.
Secondly, there are people on here with 1.6s running near to 140/150bhp but they're using ITBS/ a few £ks worth of mods to get there.
My mum's 1.4 MK3 feels a lot better than my 1.2 did/172 does. Biggest difference is in the gear change, nice and tight in the MK3 compared to feeling like you're stirring soup in the MK2s.
Her car has only done 12k in the 3 years she's had it though so it may just not have done enough miles to...
Keep in mind the wheels on the Lux are going to end up shagged by the end of next winter (if they aren't already) unless you're out sealing them all the time.

EDIT: I'd say your pretty much fooked if even Elephant are giving you ridiculous prices, they'll insure me now on my 172 @ 19 for 1300 quid.

Meant to comment this thread sooner, good to see the coilies being put to good use! If you're trying to adjust the front coils make sure to twist the bottom adjuster ring away from the top one first before moving the top one to lower the car.
