Brand new tyres don't give their best grip for a fair few miles no matter what make they are. Sorry to see the damage, know how you feel - I wanted to throw up when I got out the car and saw the damage to mine a few years ago. Rebuild it faster! ;)

My question would be why do the manufacturers bother to specify a running in period then? After all they are responsible for the engine for the next 3 years! I'm not saying that any of the above replys are wrong, but I can't see any logic in a manufacturer stating a running in period if it's...

I read that magnesium wheels can be more prone to corrosion than aluminium wheels - is this the case with the Speedline 2020's? Anyone know or had any experience?

What he said, and what I'm currently running. Like them! Had to grind the pads down a bit to get them to fit, but that seems to be the case with every set of pads I've had put on! Must have bad calipers!

No induction kit makes a big difference! I went for it as it was reputed to be the best. What really needs to be done is a rolling road day with one car and a number of induction kits - it would settle the arguments!

Brembo do disks with a coating that stops the rust forming, they're an anthracite colour. Not cheap though.
