Skim the head you have as its going to be cheaper in the long run and less messing about plus is that head on ebay 100% problem free? You wont know, could end up being a costly buy.
Not sure where youve got the valves thing from in the thread but no you wouldnt need to touch the valves
Geeezzz anyone who uses that power band on stock internals is brave. 7800 is pretty high on these but 8k :evil:
Is the Rsport remap a plug in thing? If yes he might be able to tell by locating it
My moneys on these aftermarket change of dials. Standard car apart from this prob is...
In terms of dealer prices i dont think you'll see many more reductions. There's only so much loss they can make off a car before they have to pack the whole business up due to not being financially viable
From memory i can pull 120 with a set 7800 rev limit in 4th.
For you to get 122 - 125mph on a stock car it would have to be set at 8000+ rpm or no limiter at all lol so must be these aftermarket dials youve got maybe? rather than a re-map.
Sorry to hear about this but NEVER sweve for animals in the road. Its more dangerous to swerve than it is to hit them, unless its cow. Sure this is in the highway code too?
Tip is to close your eyes for a split second
CTR's are cheap. Loads on Autotrader in the 4.5k price bracket, the same as the 182's! Most will / could be decent ''probably'' as they can take abuse.
Only CTR that raises a eyebrow for me is the JDM version. Rest are as common as hair
Common thing on Clio Sports the pulleys but its just luck of the draw. They will always need replacing at some point in the cars life, you just happen to own the car when they need doing.
Exhaust could happen to any car really :)
Makes no difference really because the chances are if you go for TB''s you'll end up doing all the above listed mods anyway and if you already have a cam package etc and get TB's then you'll have a very nice set up.
What ever happens something wants doing quick because this prize one c**t will end up taking someone out!
What happens if they target a car with kids in the back?
Someone could end up losing control of the car and ploughing over the central etc
This guy needs to be stopped as soon as
Good idea but he'll just think that was a accident, get the car fixed and carry on doing it.
Sensible choice is Police action but they'll be little justice here as the systems crap
Think you might struggle with that. The 172 cat pipework is curved plus the cat box silencer part is huge (double cat type) and you would need to hack through the internal material which could cause problems.
Try a cat from another car like a Rover or a Vauxhall as these i belive have a...
Not by much, thats all typical pricing but the labour costs could have been ditched.
Chances are all those parts wont have worn out all at the same time. Probably in different states of wear but decided to replace all in the one go :)
Sloth, are these totally random attacks or attacks on rivel ''boy racers / groups or gangs'' ??
Just with you saying about a Corsa and knowing the description of the guy there, you seem to know or be aware of them prior to your attack??
I wouldnt bother with a sports cat either on a 172. Its just half a job for lots of outlay.
Difference between a cat and a sports cat will be slim. Difference between a cat and a decat is decent but not 7 bhp decent (imo) even for that! Obviously there will be exceptions.
182 defo a waste of...
Easy for folk to say you should have done up the ph2 but to put it back up to a road worthy standard it would have cost a easy 500 + which then brings it well into the 2nd car market so doing the donor project makes more sense.
Its enjoyable too doing these kind of projects so top marks fella...
Agree. First thing i thought was, 337 from only those mods ! :S
I think the RR pic could be miss-leading folk to belive thats the proof of its actual power.. maybe
Looks well built though
Cracking project
Iv never understood on here how when folk mention turbo projects on a 172 or 182 Clio you get half a thread full of cautions and folk pointing out whats going to blow up first yet post up a R5 with the same lump turbo'd and the reaction is completly different :S
What im...
Thats exactly the point on it just being wear and tare. Old people, gearboxes / components dont go.
Pensioners aint happy unless the clutch is smoking like a crack addict :rasp:
Springs play the biggest part in how hard a ride is. Dampers just do the errmm damping unless youve set the koni's to rock hard ??
Think you must have turned soft on your year out from driving the car :rasp:
