Going by the topic starter question, if the car wont turn over what so ever ie, turn the key and nothing happens, bang the starter with a iron bar etc. Its most likely a sticking solenoid (sp)
Your updated post further down:
Try the spare key if you have one. Also does the immobiliser light...
Plenum chamber btw not inlet. You'll end up getting a totally different part if you do the online breakers search ;)
You only need the plenum (top part), not the whole inlet and plenum from a ph1 set up. All of the plenums bolt straight up to the RS inlets
You have to slacken the bolts off first ;) lol
The mount to body once the 4 bolts have been removed, if you choose to do it that way, just lifts off. You cant go wrong, either the single bolt or the 4 bolts will do the same job :)
Only if you can do it yourself but imagine the costs for a tuning company retro fitting a 20v set up and then tune it to well above that of any TB'd, turbo, etc Clio and you'd be talking some serious serious wedge there not a million miles off 10k.
IMO I wouldnt advise anyone to go for TB's...
Google, the old edition. PC running Vista if that helps
Never used to be a problem and most of them its fine but just wondered why some adverts cant be added to favourites
Why do some ebay ads won't let me bookmark / save them to favourite places, yet others can?
Does anyone else have this problem?, whats causing it how can it be fixed?
Cheers
Top engine mount off and raise the engine up to gain access to the side bolt is the easiest way by far. You dont need to take the dogbone off and the bolt dosent interfere with the tensioner or any pulleys
At the end of the day whats modding going to do? Accelerate damage thats already showing at the very worst.
Depending on the mods, if the engine does expire the mods will still be in tact and the money that would be spent stripping it down and checking prior to modding could be spent...
This trick also works on any of the Clios with a idle / TB prob
When i had a TB sticking spring problem i used to bring the revs down at the traffic lights by trying to make the car stall by lifting the clutch out and bringing the engine under load.
How many Turbo'd 172's / 182's have had problems on here? Can only think of one and that was to do with the owner cranking up the boost by double.
They do appear to be no worse, reliability wise than any other type of conversion tbh.
The cost is the main issue but if you love your car then...
Dont forget this is a Cup.
Cups im sure are a lot cheaper to get the Cam belt done as its a lot easier job than on the FF's
You could have a go yourself at a push??
You yourself have the answer to your own topic question mate ;)
You know the rules, its up to you whether you want to follow them. Most dont, some do. Your call ...
If its a 182, i'll guess something to do with the electric TB or connected sensors?
Sure iv read something on here about them in the past.
If it was a ph1 172 first port of call would be TB spring, TB cable, sucking in air etc
^^As above.
Forget turbo's and TB's, the charger route is the future way forward for the Clio Sport world of engine modding and its going to be cheapish too by the looks of it.
2 companys nearing production i belive.
VAG group 20v turbo engine is good but the expense is only for the...
Not quite as bad as 'just' noise lol but not 'big' gains no.
Defo makes a difference and if your doing more mods in the future very much worth doing from my experience.
Why not go K-tec link pipe? Will then make it so you dont require any welding
Folk get too hung up on figures, its not...
I must be lucky
Was very worried about the rasping thing when buying but it hasnt happend thankfully.
Probably down to my set up? dunno
Id certainly recommend it from my experience
Boomy? :S Try fitting just about every other 2.5'' bore system and you'll find out what boomy really is - certainly isnt this one from experience.
Weighs 1kg lighter than stock apparently. Only better system you'll find costs 100+ quid more and its only better in terms of fit
Waste of time but thats just my own opinion.
If you really want to, go for a Jenvey single larger than stock TB but from reading on here theres a 50 50 split as to whether its really worth it or gives any gains
Mines just turned 110k on original box. Very slightly notchy on rushed changes but i blame that on the grade of box oil we put in, soon to be changed.
Apart from that, solid
Pipers have been good for mine.
RS Tuning's rollers last month, 186bhp and 175lb/ft - Havent seen many 172's running that kind of torque on here with a N/A set up
Been in the car well over 60k too without probs and dont do the tapping thing either
I didnt say you were doing it for power. I was just saying dont expect a gain in performance. (some folk get the impression a silencer is restrictive)
You will gain some hearing loss
