It comes as a kit that they (ITG) themselfs make up prior to dispatch.
Good chance they will be able to help but might need proof of purchase (guess)
Give them a ring direct. Guy i once spoke to was very helpfull
You do know by straight through theres no gains to be had its just the noise that would be the difference?
Example: You would still be able to roll a tennis ball from one end to the other silenced or unsilenced
Might be worth a hunt down the local breaker for a inlet manifold from a sutible donor.
Could then eliminte the worry over the design factor then its just a case of making space in the engine bay and mating up some sutible sized inlet trumpets and mounting the TB. (easy bit lol)
Personally think this would be a waste of time too but its each to their own.
A turbo'd 1.4 would have to find 80 odd bhp just to match the levels of a stock 172 engine.
To take it well over 172 performance level would require some serious wedge.
Far better VFM and probably a lot quicker...
Keep quoting this but someone on here managed a 14.2 quarter and had a CDA bolted on. Did have other mods too all be it very minor ones. Point is, if a car can perform like that with the CDA kit on it cant be too shabby.
Key with all IK's is the set up and the way they compliment other mods ;)
Theres a couple of threads kicking about on this subject. By reading between the lines the plenum and inlet set up can be improved upon 10 fold but dont think anyones done it on a F4R plus theres question marks over the potential to loose torque
Tis all above my head but these are just things...
No id say buy one but do some research and set it up propely. Stock air box and this V6 thing are over rated.
The ph2 square design dosent exactly hinder its book performance figures vs the ph1's cylinder / V6 item
Nothing wrong with Renault dealers as such. You just have to be clued up so you know if your being stitched up ;)
Cambelt timing thing is a good example where Renault is 'sometimes' best
Dont bother with a K&N, you'll lose power. (open IK)
Also dont bother with a second hand Viper imo. They dont have the best build in the world and it might have been glued as the foam tares with age. (my experience)
Folk dont like induction kits because theres no 'on paper gains'. Theres...
Escorted the gf to uni last night and sat at a constant 60mph for 36 miles saw 50.1 mpg for most of the journey!
Car hardly ever gets under mid 30's at worst but thats due to the type of roads im on.
It is possible to find out EXACTLY how many ph1 172's are currently registered but i think you have to be in the trade and you have to pay for the service.
There was a mag feature on it in a classic car mag middle of the year. Listed the most 'in danger' lol run of the mill cars on the UK...
1300 Valvers? Pretty sure there was more than that built for the UK market?
Difficult to compare anyway. Age gap is massive plus their both a totally different cars in terms of build and power.
Push the clips in on the wiring connector and pull the plugs off.
Fuel rail will come off as one, no need to take the injectors out of the rail
* wiring off the injectors
* fuel line off the fuel rail
* 2 x 10mm bolts taken out
* pull injectors / rail out of the inlet
Just with prices being rock bottom for the complete car on the second hand market.
Depends how much you love your car. I understand what you mean though deep down haha - cars are our b1tches :cool:
If your ripping the engine out you could be incerting a shagger!
Take the engine out the car and your lovely history and looked after-ness counts for nowt bar the brakes :o
I do know what you mean, you just cant part with it but in terms of being cost effective it would be a lot less hassle...
