Not the case anymore unfortunately, CYC do loyalty points now working out at 5% I think. Don't think Serious Performance do either, but Car Wash n Wax might still not sure?
Get Megs Shampoo Plus or Hyper Wash if buying in bulk, exceptionally good for the money. Otherwise I like Victorias Super...
I'm at uni and pay the local Iraqi car washers to use their PW...which they must find weird. They were like "but sir we do washings of car for you for the moneys" - so I had to politely tell them "thanks, but I would rather pleasure myself using a gauntlet made of razors". Sound lads though!
I can maybe do it when I am back home Haz in about a month or so, assuming your still in Herts?
It will be the beginning of "Operation Pay Back Ridiculous Amounts of Student Loan and Overdraft" lol
Let me know if your interested but no worries if not.
Depends what you want doing. A typical "valet" clean done by a bunch of cowboys who don't really have a clue...probably £20-30.
For a proper clean, paint correction, good wax, plastics, arches and windows by a good detailer, the sky is the limit!
Chemical Guys XXX is a good entry level wax, only costs £11 or thereabouts, although would be better of spending money on Autogylm Super Resin Polish first which you can get from Halfords, and some detailing clay. They should sell the Meguiars kit from Halfords too. That will make a huge...
Ah really...well the flake comes out well on it, must be a gifted photographer then! ;)
What products did you use?
Have you got aftermarker dust caps too? Pimping!
Replied to your PM...as I said though by the time I included the transformer an d postage costs you would be better of buying a new Megs unit probably! Sorry.
PC = Porter Cable random-orbital polisher. You can still buy them but the new Megs polisher is basically the same if not slightly...
You can do your whole car with it but wouldn't ever want to myself...it is really best for small areas.
And don't get a PC...Megs 220 is the new kid in town lol (unless you want to buy mine so I can get the Megs?!? ;))
Ha...drive 360 miles to get something which costs £11...that my friend is not an economical solution to the problem!
What you getting done to your badges? If you are bored and fancy the drive down south over summer I can do your car properly then, was going to bring all my stuff up with me to...
Well I think I got even better service...as the original connection of the AB Foam Lance I had was pretty tight, Matt fashioned, tested and sent out a better fitting connection, free-of-charge!
A customised fitting - don't think you get that everywhere. Plus he has been really helpfull when I...
Fair play Naith, just it is a LOT of hard work especially on a black car and also if you are getting the car PCd anyway might not be that much point...but if you are REALLY bored and fancy getting a forearm like Popeye then no harm having a go I guess.
Scratch X is a good thing to have to do...
About £12 from Halfords mate.
MUCH harder - it is designed to remove swirls rather than cover/fill them and won't leave any protection like the SRP will.
Personally I wouldn't attempt a whole car with it as it would take so long and would look stupid if you start and don't finish.
Naith, on...
I think it is a valuable resource don't get me wrong and a lot of people really know what they are talking about, some people just seem fixated on certain brands and mock people who like other brands, like fanboys for cleaning products.
Sorry I don't want to put people off as I know a lot of...
Looks spot on - good work!
Anthracite wheels seem to give a lot glossier look than the silver 172 wheels but I guess that is understndable.
Was toying with the idea of getting some but can't find any decent sets and plus if I get the job in September I will be getting a Twingo for the first...
Have you sprayed your wheels too Paul, they look darker in your photo now?
For an Inferno Cup (not normally my favourite colour!) I have to say do rate yours a lot!
20 hours...amateur!
But yeah should be someone on there mate, don't think anyone from here is from anywhere near Blackpool...
Only problem with Detailing World I find is sometimes there is a lot of "group think" and they seem biased towards and against certain brands...I am more of a...
I have loads of different products for different bits as found none work amazingly well all-round.
For me:
Splitter, fog surround and the bit in the rear bumper: Blackfire Tyre Gel (yes, tyre gel, deal with it!)
Window seals: Collinites 476 wax (yes, wax, deal with it!)
Mirror...
Yep. Pne of the mechanics got his ollllllllllllld Saab 900 done which hadn't even been cleaned properly then Diamond Brite over the top, and was surprised when it did absolutely sweet FA.
It is scarier as my boss had been valeting for about 17 years at the time, over 20 now and works for a...
Ha only kidding big boy! Well sort of!
Print this thread off and stick it to the windscreen of his Beemer once he has forked out for it and watch his smile evaporate!
Also forgot to add, sometimes in the dealership we didn't even bother polishing the paint before applying the Diamond...
This is a load of rubbish, even if swirls are 100% removed and topped with the best products known to man, there is no way no swirls won't be inflicted in 5 years unless it is never driven and kept in an incubator (cough Rich! ;))
My Nan had this service done on her then new Polo, a year later...
