Nice little collection there...my only advice would be to get Swisswax Onyx over the Victoria's. It's a little more expensive but judging by reviews of the Victorias the Swisswax is a bit better.
Even if it means saving for a bit longer it would be worth it I'd say, you will be hard pressed to...
Use the least cutting pad and polish you have on a test area and see what the results are like, if it's not coming up great then step up to something with a little more cut.
Not used those pads or polishes myself so can't comment on those really I'm afraid.
Service at Car Wash n Wax is really good, wouldn't start slating them just because they didn't put in a thank you note mate.
Shame the stuff doesn't smell good though!
^ probably wasn't rubbed in well enough, that will happen to any plastic dressing...
Yeah it will come of paint fine, but easier to spray some onto a cloth first then rub in rather than spray directly onto plastic.
^ I can vouch that it does work for dressing plastics 100%, just doesn't last THAT long but no plastic dressings do in this country, best wearing I have found is actually meant to be for tyres...which means some chemists need to get back to the drawing board!
At the moment probably every 2 weeks, at uni evey 3-4 weeks. When at home every week. 2-3 times a week is a bit much though IMO! especially as every time I do it I have to at least QD after, wheels, tyres, plastics, windows, arches and shuts....3 hours for a "quick" one, couple of days for a...
Yeah Matt forgot to say that shampoo sample you gave me was pretty good, Britemax worked well.
For me, shampoos I use most right now are:
Victorias Super Soap
Chemical Guys Body Wash and Wax/ and Citrus version
Also impressed with the Megs Shampoo Plus, especially for the money
As young MrBilly says...WD40 works really well to dress plastics, water beads of plastic like on paint...just found it didn't last that long, the finish at least.
After people talking about it on here I tried a normal art rubber on some plastic with polish on and it did actually work pretty well.
I use it on my mum's alloys which are curbed much worse than that and have a soft finish to them but don't seem to have done any damage at all, but I only use it probably every 2-3 months probably. Just rinse off well and don't leave to dwell for too long.
When I worked at a garage a while ago...
I just use SRP by machine mate...then top with Collinites 476s, when you wash it you can just wipe with a MF towel don't need anything else, and sheets water almost as well as RainX.
By hand is probably just as good.
Otherwise the Carlack glass sealing kit Tim @ CYC sells looks good, was going...
All the above methods, but if you put some talc powder (quite a lot, so its heaped) over the spill it soaks up a lot of it...although your drive looks stupid/ you have a massive coke problem in the meantime!
The inside of mine are like right now! Tried cleaning through the spokes but wasn't moving, going to have to take them off again! OR maybe leave them until they are so black it looks intentional!?
No worries mate...
I normally use hot tap water, if you think your machine can go up to 90 degrees I use kettle water sometimes with a bit of cold water, cools down quickly, but bit of judgement really depending on how dirty the cloths are and how new/ good they are.
If you just get a washing...
I stick a few in a washing up bowl with hot water and a drizzle of the stuff...give it a mix and leave for a good few hours or overnight. Will come up well!
Haha, I am trying to reduce mine, hopefully if I get a car thats not mine it won't be so bad. I think the thing is that when you get a car you love it so much you just want it in as good as condition it can be, but each time you get it in better condition you never want it to get worse in the...
Tough call mate, personally I think keeping the 182 and not driving it is a waste, might as well get a 1.2 and keep it in good nick if you want a concours car.
I would get a cheap but fun daily driver, even something like a Focus diesel would be ok, then either get the Elise or keep the 182 as...
Yeah the 476s/Onyx combo is amazing, although last time I had about 3 types of sealants underneath so hard to tell what was doing what.
Right now I have just got SRP which I applied by machine, a layer of CG Body Blitz and straight to the Onyx, but I think the 476 added to the gloss even though...
Ha worth a squirt. If I am forced to sell the 172 now though I WILL be buying a 182, V6, Elise or new Scirroco in time to come...going from 172 bhp to 80 bhp is NOT cool...:(
Ah fair play...did you try a larger pot in the end then, remember you tried the sample pot and didn't rate it that much?
476 is an absolute bargain for the money I think, the pot lasts ages too!
Wasthe finish any better than 476 or just easier to apply? 476 is still one of my favourite products, use it on glass, wheels, some rubber trims and underneath a soft wax...will definitely get some of this new stuff it its even better, was looking at the "Marque D'elegance" or Dodo Juice Blue...
I have tne SSF with wax now from i4detailing and seems to leave an even better finish, I used to think it might strip waxes and stuff off as it smells like traffic film remover but it doesn't seem to. Good shizzle.
