What is it with people in this country??!
I was driving sensibly and some stupid bint walks into the road at a junction when the pedestrian light was clearly red, she puts her hand onto my bonnet leaving a crease mark then proceeds to swear at me before running off. Seriously fucked off...
It doesn't take that long, no more than a couple of hours including glass and wheels. Definitely not something to do every week though, only ever done it twice on mine!
A polish itself won't cost that much, think at a consumer size the most you will pay is about £20, its the wax that can get expensive. AG SRP is good for looks and a bit of protection but won't really get rid of many marks, you want something with a little more cut in it than that, and for these...
Sounds stupid but I pay the local place a fier just to use their PW whilst at uni and use all my own stuff. They do about ten cars in the time it takes to do mine, and I'm not slow just carefull.
EGP is meant to be watery, yes. Not my favourite sealant but does the job.
The AG protection system is different to SRP and EGP but
for the difference in price I would always go for this route as not polishing at all for the year will in most peoples hands result in a badly swirled car. Also...
I have shi1t reception where I live and nearly cost me an interview for the job I went for (And now got!) I rang Orange up and said "what is the point of me paying you money for something that doesn't work???" and they said "did it work when you bought it?" so I said "yes, but I have moved since...
Seriously mate its pish. Even if it did last 5 years (which it wouldn't) you would want a light polish in that time as you will induce some swirls at least no matter how carefull you are when cleaning it. Plus they will put it on over paint in probably pretty poor condition, so if you ever...
Michael haven't you recently detailed your car? You should have really clayed then before polishing, the Sonus Green will only remove very mild contamination, sometimes I am not convinced it does much at all! I would have bought a more aggressive version if you are looking to clean up your...
Really? I found it foamed pretty well with warm water...I know there are ones that foam more if you just want that but as an all rounder with foam, cleaning, finish and cost I rate it a lot.
The Victorias is good though Rich as I said just expensive, not something for the Kosovans to be using...
The best foamy shampoos I have used have been Chemical Guys Citrus Wash and Gloss and Extreme Body Wash, foam nicely if your not using a pre-wash, fairly cheap (especially in bulk) and leave a great finish. Also liked a repackaged version of the Sonax shampoo too but only ever had a couple of...
So have I! Both apply the wax, neither mark the paint. As for edges failing I have some which are a couple of years old, but they are so cheap I tend to use new ones when doing a car anyway.
I'm using Victoria Super Soap now and rate it a lot for the finish it leaves, looks awesome. Only downside is the price and doesn't foam as much as some other shampoos but who cares eh!
"Looks like a good time was had by all" - Damnit Matt you beat me to it!!! ;)
I have only been in Naith's car briefly but it sounded like an animal...lovely car. He is especially keen on interior lighting mods! :D haha.
Looks like I should have allowed my essay and made it down there today...
A wax works well over EGP, I would seriously look elsewhere than Halfords though, for £11 you can get Chemical Guys XXX paste wax which is a good entry wax, spend a bit more and can get Chemical Guys 50/50 or P21s, or one of the new Dodo waxes. Thats to name just a few, look at some of the sites...
Mine hasn't been done for about 3 weeks and it looks s**t, although even though its dirty like animal it still looks shiny due to the paint being in great nick, and I know a power wash and some snow foam will have it looking great again in no time.
GEEK! ;) Good write up though...I can see why you don't drive the 182 much when you have gone to that effort, not something I can see myself doing though to be honest, what I can't see can't hurt me!
Just looked at the edges on mine...they are nicely tapered in?!? As well as any MF towel anyway...Rich grow some balls and use it, they are bloody good!!! ;)
