Been running Apex / Koni for years. Love the set up.
If anyone thinks they give too hard a ride, seriously, your plain gay
Point to point on back roads the Eibach's will be quicker due to the 4x4 stance lol
'Proper' cold air feeds rot or tare in time so avoid.
Much better with the tin foil type of ones from Homebase etc
Im running a 100mm (4 inch) on my ph1. Had to re-locate the horns to make it fit.
My Magnex is spot on with a 182 mani conversion. Only problem i have ever had was the clamp coming loose and knocking off the rear axle
182 cat tho?? Why ?? :S :S
Youve gone to the trouble of a 182 manifold conversion then choked it up by fitting a cat?? :o :S
You'd get more power...
The flanges will but the pipework wont. Its bent and angled and you want a straight piece plus the 'cat' part is quite a fair size.
Measue the gap. 14.0'' something from memory. Cat of any car will do as long as it will fit the gap
IMO Monaco blue makes a 172 look like a 'normal Clio' especially when on the road. Maybe thats a good thing (wolf in sheeps clothing)
Clean looking car
Like the old 17 inch thing, if you bolt them on you wont notice much of a difference, switch back to stock and the weight difference is very evident
You'd be suprised on the strength thing. My mate bent her stock OZ alloys, i bent one god knows how and few months back bought a 2nd hand set...
Nah, im happy with the Maxogen thanks :rasp:
Bit of a difference between one of the many after market filters and IK's versus no protection at all. 90% of folk on here have some sort of induction modification with out problems.
Think if your worried about slight long term damage due...
Sure they used to do them in a 16
Very strong but bloody heavy. I switched back to stock and the difference in acceleration is very noticeable
Put them on the scales and here's what i got as a rough guide:
Ph1 172 OZ F1 Cup with Michelin = 15kg
Ph1 172 OZ F1 Cup with Uniroyle =...
Have you been reading tuning for fukwits or something?? :clown:
Open ended IK, split foam equals road dirt inside engine equals bye bye engine ... :clown:
Might be ok for you but i aint gonna balls about running a split IK having spent X amount of K's on engine work
**oh and by the way...
Also got experience of both and tbh not that much difference performance wise between the 2 (IMO)
Build quality the Maxogen wins hands down. My Viper foam split thats the only reason i changed it.
Performance wise, pulled really well with the Viper, much better than the standard ph1 airbox...
Take you dont read the Fast Ford mags then ? :quiet:
200 bhp CVH Escort vs standard 172, nothing in it. Raced a lad a few years back.
Anything much more than that and come traction the CVH would nail a 172.
In terms of this conversion i wouldnt bother. Shove the engine in a mk2...
Contrast between the colours is too much. Makes it look stupid imo
If you could darken up the lower half it would really be the biz
Quality looking job on it though
Not sure what the difference is in the Clio exhaust mounts but if their the same and it does fit up you'll probably find the pipe of the 172 will be a lot bigger than the one on your centre section. Cant see a 1.4 having the same bore exhaust as a 2.0 litre
You could always strip it out and buy a big bottle of NOS for the performance.
Far cheaper and didnt MATT BLACK get a 13.5 quarter on a standard 172 with this method??
Its just because IK's are more free flowing but i didnt mean actual dirt as in earth lol just meant a term dirt as in grime gunk crap or what ever you want to call it :o :rasp: :)
Still drops in time even with that method but will help a bit.
Im gonna trawl the breakers yards for a more heavy duty mount off something else and get a mate to weld it up to the original.
Ditch the local garage and take it to a proper dealer or specialist. This area aint for f**king about with not to mention the expense it would cost ''just to see'' if its that as if theyve got it wrong your bill will end up being 2x aux belt fittings at 400 + notes
haha you still got those photo's fella :)
Here's some more of it.
Currently got my original F1's back on and i have to say the weight difference really shows. Roughly 2 - 3kg's heavier per corner depending on the tyre compared to the OZ's.
Great looking rims the 2118's, strong well...
