Reason why not to do it is because the ph1 airbox is over rated. This all came from the fact that a few got it into their heads it looks like a Maxogen so must be a Maxogen and its spread from there.
2 pointers. If its that good why wasnt it fitted to the ph's2 and 182's? Why have the big power...
Is it not the old saying of ''do you want it loud or quiet'' ?? It was when i got one of their back boxes
2.5 for ''gains'', standard bore for standard performance
As already stated LPG gives poor MPG and the price of it has shot up recently! Add that to the instalation costs and the draw backs and it really isnt worth doing.
Can see where your coming from but if fuel costs are that much of a problem to you on a Clio then i think you should maybe think...
Would have thought thats about right for a regular service but 700 for the cam belts geeeezzz
Never been charged anywhere near 700 for a timing belt change from my main dealer. Its nearer £250 and that aint for the aux belt either
Probably but most folk are only posting the typical stereotype image of young lad gets nice hot hatch, 5 mins later its written off...
Insurance industry think the same hence high premiums for young drivers ...
Standard Clio Sport set up is nowt special at all. Speakers are gash, very much highlighted when a replacement head unit is fitted.
Ive got a sub and the rest but dont feel the need to let others listen to my music when driving through the local town.
Music sounds far better with a bass...
I find the Halfords 1.5 tonne Jack dosent go high enough when rasing for use with axle stands. Only goes as far as hole number one on the stands and is a tight squeeze if your under the car for any length of time.
Also dosent go low enough if your running Apex springs (on the front) I have to...
Its a buyers market. Hell of a drivers car for the money is a Cup!
If your worried about any form of depreciation, dont buy a car end of.
As already stated the Cup wont drop that much more in price over the next few years. (see ph1 172's as a example) Your Type R will still lose a couple...
That dent thing is probably to do with the fact the majority of 182 manifolds are bought from written off 182's. Very easy for the manifold to come into contact with the anti-roll bar during any kind of impact. Cant see it being part of the design ... ?
Mine had exactly the same dent in it...
You only get heat soak when your stuck in traffic / slow moving traffic. When your up and running the engine bay is pretty cool due to air entering from the front, wheel arches and from under the car etc etc
PMSL @ heat soak :o :dead:
It could be a number of things or simply nothing.
Best thing to do, get it serviced (cars always feel better after a good servicing) and mention it feels a bit slugish and take it from there. Dont mention about coil packs etc cos no doubt they'll bill you for one lol
Yeah there's no grip at all off the line. Right hand lane is also the ''quick lane'' haha
Crail's good as a rough guide and is pretty good value for money (15 notes unlimited runs)
Crail isnt the best. They reckon if you go to the likes of Pod or York you could knock half a 2nd off. Have my doubts about that though.
Here's my times from the Crail site.

****Edited*** Sorry i meant my 60ft...
My best to date in the mk1 172 full interior, amp rack and heavy 2118's at crappy Crail is 14.4 @ 99.6
My 60ft time and 1/8 th of a mile time is a lot less than the above but the terminal speed is slightly more.
Will this be down to my initial acceleration with the extra weight??
Only prob is, gonna be a pain mounting it onto the dash :rasp:
K-tec sell it for the Renaults. Its hardly not gonna work is it?? but, wonder how many functions dont as stated on the ad for it?
Proabably one of the best value performance per pound mod you can do to a 172
A little bit louder but nothing silly. Id go for silenced though. There's no difference in performance to a unsilenced one
IMO you dont need a fancy branded battery, Halfords one will do a everyday job and comes with a decent warranty
Got mine for 27 quid ball park figure on the trade card ;)
Calcium ones are a little more expensive
