Yeah, getting a few marks is inevitable, my car is pushing on 36k miles and gets driven most days, so have accepted can't get it (or keep it) 100% like I might be able to iif it was a second car. With grad jobs on the horizon, and potential company cars, I may be forced to sell the 172 at some...
They seemed to, I did some reading about the products before using them together and as it contains some more micro-abrasives like the SRP, it seemed to create an even better surface to work on - and built up the layers from there.
Having said that it was abit of an experiement and not so sure...
Same, maybe this is the new me!? ;)
Having said that I WISH mine was clean again now. Just such a nightmare. Just having passengers looks like you have had some cattle in your car!
Cheers.
Yeah Rich noticed those marks too - you can't see them in normal conditions, I think the sun being directly on them brought them out - but I do accept leaving some minor marks rather than risking going through clearcoat, I am anticipating keeping the car for a while and there a few...
For Ali with love!
A few shots of the 172 after a "proper" detailing session in September, wish I took more photos from a distance, I got carried away with close ups and details to get an overall look at the car lol. Will do next time!
Anyway, spent 3/4 days a few hours at a time prepping my...
Rubbish. There are no pollutants in space - so can't really compare.
I would certainly want to polish my car during those 5 years, which would remove it anyway.
Don't fall for the spiel.
Er I'm not even sure I made one?! As photos aren't on my Photobucket account - they are on my laptop though so if I dig that out I can get them up.
I thought I had made one though? I'll do a search!
Ah fair play, will try some neat. TBH though the bottle I am using now has a mixture of neat CG Synthetic Detailer and their other one which name escapes me right now mixed in too. I like!
Edit: just did a search and can't find it so guess I couldn't of done! Will post them up when I can...
I did mine in September and it was looking absolutely MINT after a 3/4 day session....but at uni all I could do was wash it and QD (or was prepared too lol, was kind of busy!) and got a few minor marks where some guy MOTd my car and must have wiped his overalls on the front quarter panels so...
Same, I thought you were meant to dilute it anyway? :S Well I have been lol - still works a charm. Filtered water though of course! Courtesy of Mr Brita...
Yeah mate it sucks. Just don't have the time to sort mine at the moment either, all its got recently is a wash and wipe down, really needs a PC SRP and sealing and wax session, the wheels and arches removing...just can't be bothered right now as its just so filthy out.
Honestly its a good shout, pleased I have the big bottle of Megs LAst Touch as was getting through way too much before!
Especially handy in the summer - although do you get one in Scotland? I heard the laws of physics were inverted there too? ;)
Yeh its brilliant, only trouble is thats its SOOOO big that you have to be careful not to let any of the towel drag on the floor when your "going down" so to speak...;)
I find doubling it over and literally just laying it over a panel like the roof and bonnet takes most the water up, spray the...
Yeah thats the one I have, its great, just make sure to wash it quite often - the CG Microfibre Wash works really well on it to keep it super soft.
He GAVE it to you though....no fair!!!
I think its like £10-12 depending where you buy from.
Good point though, MUCH better than what you can pick up from Halfords, I gave all that stuff away as I simply will never ever use it again.
Its a good entry level wax though I think, just doesn't last long.
Ah fair play.
Yeah the durability is pretty poor hence only recommending it for use in the Summer. In winter your right though, not worth bothering with really.
A full respray doesn't mean anything, my car has come out of the bodyshop and need a full session on the new paint to blend it in, remove overspray and bring a decent lustre to the surface.
Any wax is rubbish applied to a poor surface, even the Royales and Vintages... (not that I have used them...
You are obviously RUBBISH then! ;)
What new towel are you using dude? Still think the MASSIVE Super Ultra Luxury Towel or whatever its called is where its at though!
Brun, is your paint well prepped mate? Maybe you felt let down as its not well cleaned/ polished, as waxing on bad paint is a total waste of time?
As I said, maybe not the best wax around but definitely not crap by any means!
Ah yes...well, if Santa is nice might have to bite the bullet, although got my Autobrite Foam Lance to buy first. Plus I spunked about £60 at CYC on things I didn't really need this week :( And only have a couple of cars lined up over Christmas so far due to revision....ah well!
Ha yeah no I want to...its the only thing I really need now, probably better than me buying loads more products I never use. You use which one again Richard Richard?
