Main problem is the bonnet on the 172 wouldnt close due to the hight of it.
What id like to know is minus the bonnet prob, in theory, which would give better gains. A 197 inlet or a machined 172 one?
I still get the same MPG now its modded as when it was standard!
My average is 38 miles to the gallon with ragging it down to 32/34 and taking it steady 40 to 45+
A combination of low fuel (lack of weight), dodgy tyre choice or low tyre tred and lifting off mid corner on a damp greasy road dosent help a Clio Sport stay out of the green and on the black.
Thats rubbish. If your pulling in more air with mods like IK's, cams, inlets etc etc you need to counter balance it by getting the right mix of fuel going in hence a remap.
As for does it use more fuel. i got 43.7 mpg last night driving at 70 ish and thats with 200bhp
Between a standard Teg and a standard 172 / 182 there's only half a car length or so in it when ever i came up against one.
Teg will feel quicker because of the Vtec. When its off Vtec its as weak as a puffs handshake.
My mate got his rolling roaded once and when it came on Vtec the bhp...
It works on roughly, kinda, somewhere abouts, the same principle ;)
But yeah that thing lol as per topic. If i exchanged my instrument panel with one that has the rev warning light or what ever we want to call it, will it work ??
Mapped??
Mine felt like it gained higher up the rev range.
Engine note changed on mine too but this might have been to do with hacking the exhaust / decat to make it fit
Worth doing imo but i wouldnt pay 700
Just out of interest
Got a mk1 172 and it never came with the shift light.
If i replaced the instrument panel from a 172 which has the shift light, will it work on mine or would i need all the wiring ect to make it work?
cheers
Both seat airbags had gone off too!
Engine was super clean looking and untouched and really the only thing worth buying it for but at £2800 odd it was for sale for, it would be a very expensive engine !
Spotted this 04 plate 182 in at my local breakers last week. Its now been sold i think.
Had the ClioSport.net sticker in the back window
Anyone from on here ??
Completly disagree
Ive had a Viper and now have a Maxogen and there is no difference in performance to call and in terms of fit couldnt fault the Viper.
Viper is a superb bit of kit. Noise with the CAF not connected and just pointing at is awsome
Maybe if folk fitted / set them up...
