Everything breaks eventually though!
They have a 3 year warranty now so if you can live with the inconvenience of returning them every so often don't think it would put me off getting on. Just think it is poor that so many break, the original Xbox was a solid piece of kit, although my disc...
Good work, the blue looks cool when clean...
But yes stay well away from the "hand car wash for £5" type places if you care about your paint work.
Yesterday I compared my car with my mates Dynamique which were both built in the same year and both Pearl Black - the difference in paint colour...
Ha NOOO. Like I said I was half asleep and just kind of plucked a figure out the air, it will cost me at least £10 to get there and back too in petrol. Think I am just going to say I need more and if he doesn't like it then he can get a nice local Kosovan to do it.
At the end of the day I'm not...
Yeh I suppose...not something I have done on my own car TBH. Something I would like to do though is take my wheels off and do the insides again, and also do the arches properly as there are areas you can't reach with them on. Ideally paint the calipers gloss black too, something I have wanted to...
That's the thing - he just seems keen to get as much for his money as he can. I asked him to send me some photos but don't really show too much paint detail but by sounds of things it is badly swirled. I think £60 for driving to his house, wash, clay, polish using Menzerna IP and FF then SRP is...
Cool thanks for the suggestions guys! I have got some stuff leftover but left some residue first time I used it so just prefer the blue stuff if I can get it. Think I have sold myself short though, a guy with a £30k Evo Type VIII is selling it and wanted a machine polish just to improve things...
Yeah its a bit of a mare! Will drop him a message and see what he says, just don't want to end up paying for loads of stuff I don't need right now.
Cheers.
SRP is very mild, no worse than any new car polish that would probably have been applied by the dealer so I wouldn't worry about it mate.
To apply polished by hand I either use a German Applicator (A bit more cut) or a microfibre pad. To apply wax I use a foam pad. To remove any product by hand...
Just a quick one guys, I know you can get 3M tape online but don't really need anything else, does anyone know any highstreet retailers on anything that stock it?
Cheers.
Looks cool mate really like it in white.
I would c hange the rear lights to standard as mentioned and fit either some RS alloys (the 182 anthractie wheels could look good) or else, dare I say it, some Turinis...? :quiet:
Yeah I know mate! I realised the other day when I exceeded my 5 per day limit on the old General Chat board...although pretty much only post on a couple of boards.
Expect more controversial and high brow entertainment for the next year then... ;)
Ha... it is perfectly fast enough for my Dad's needs and it handles AMAZINGLY well, not just for a softop but against some really serious competition, it is absolutely glued to the road and even when it comes out its great to handle.
My Dad uses it every day so wanted something that held its...
Ha yes very funny smart guy! ;)
Yeah the wheels are nice, but the tyres are stupidly expensive. My dad had 2 new rears fitted on Monday, came to over £360 :dead:
I am sure he doesn't mind.. it is only my inheritance after all lol!
A couple more:
Right, a few photos of the detail.
As I said, a wash using CG Extreme Wash n Wax, and was just going to go into the machine polish using SRP but lots of micro-contamination such as tar and tree sap so I gave it a quick clay first.
After the SRP I gave it a layer of CG Wet Mirror Finish as I...
I think £200 to get your car sorted out is great value considering the time it takes and skills and products needed. Considering dealers can charge more than £200 for a pretty lame valet its even better value!
There was one on the bonnet when I bought the car but after a few mild hand polishes and goes on the PC it has virtually gone. Ironic thing was the day after I PCd it - I came outside to find the whole car covered in turd!
Those bloody birds eh...and rain, mud, insects... basically...
No the specific lube isn't necessary, just use a solution of shampoo and or qds, and dilute with water as necessary, basically just make sure it feels quite "slimy".
I dry mine after washing then use a mit and bucket full of shampoo and QDs and wet each panel at a time. Makes sure the panel is evenly covered with liquid and just prefer it this way. Personal preference I guess...;)
The best I have used are the CG Synthetic spray or the Sonus ones... I find some QDs leave streaks on black cars but these don't. The Sonus ones especially bring out a deep shine.
I was thinking that too! Surely I am insured on it as I have my own policy fully comp? Or do I still need to inform them?
Seems only fair for working free of charge for about 12 hours when it is all done... and it was pretty mint before I even got started!
