Ok i want some bolt on mods for my mk2 172 but dont want the expense / warranty issues of a chip. What i want to know is which mods are ok without a chip being needed - full exhaust, de-cat, ind kit, panel filter. I notice a lot of people who fit an induction kit say they have to fit a chip...

so Mat, a performance exhaust on its own shouldnt have any effect exept on power as this is for gases exiting the engine? is it all induction kits that cause probs on the 172? never chipped an other car when ive fitted an ind kit.

Has anyone fitted a Scorpion exhaust to their 172? Revolution sell these for £259.99inc vat which is cheap. i know magnex are a perfect fit but Scorpion have a 4" round tailpipe :)

seems to be a waste of money getting a 172 chipped? with a pipercross ind kit (not viper) and a k-tec system would it run too rich?

i used it on the bulb holder where it pushes into the repeater - plastic :)

i got some from a shop on ebay for £15, dont sit flush at the bottom and the bulb holder isnt as tight as the origionals but i smeared clear silicon around so water shouldnt get in

sometimes it helps if you take the battery out of the remote for a few seconds then refit - then press remote a few times aiming at car. This worked on my old zr - retuned itself
